PROJECT ENGINEER: ROAD AND STORMWATER (2 POSITIONS)
SALARY: R 696 000.00 p.a. (Excluding Benefits)
POST LEVEL: 3
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
· Pr Eng (Engineering Council of South Africa).
· Proven experience in road development projects, preferably within a municipal setting.
· Strong knowledge of engineering principles, road design standards, and construction practices.
· Proficiency in project management so?ware and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
· As a Project Engineer for Road, you will play a vital role in designing, planning, and executing road construction and improvement projects throughout our vibrant community. Your responsibilities will include:
· Project Management: Lead Road development initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, government agencies, and community members.
· Design and Planning: Utilize your engineering expertise to create innovative road design concepts, and engineering standards considering factors such as traffic flow, safety standards, sustainability, and urban development. Collaborate with engineer and town planners to ensure a cohesive vision for our municipality.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local and national regulations pertaining to road construction. Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and accessibility guidelines, promoting inclusive and sustainable road networks.
· Budgeting and Resource Management: Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation. Seek opportunities for cost-effective solutions and explore grants and funding options to support road development initiatives.
· Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including municipal officials, engineers, contractors, and community members. Communicate project updates, address concerns, and actively engage the public in the road and stormwater development processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Water).
· Pr Eng (Engineering Council of South Africa).
· Proven experience in water development projects, preferably within a municipal or utility setting.
· Strong knowledge of water engineering principles, hydraulic modelling, treatment processes, and distribution systems.
· Familiarity with relevant regulations, water quality standards, and environmental sustainability practices.
· Proficiency in project management so?ware and hydraulic design tools.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
· As the Project Engineer for Water Development, you will play a vital role in enhancing our water infrastructure, managing resources efficiently, and implementing innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of our residents. Your key responsibilities will include:
· Project Management: Lead water development initiatives, from planning and design to construction and implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and utility providers, to ensure successful project delivery.
· Water System Design: Utilize your engineering expertise to design and upgrade water supply systems, pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. Consider factors such as water quality, quantity, distribution, and conservation in alignment with regulatory standards.
· Compliance and Regulation: Stay up-to-date with water regulations and environmental standards. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national guidelines, while promoting sustainable water management practices and conservation efforts.
· Innovation and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for implementing advanced technologies, such as smart water systems, to optimize water usage, manage water loss, and enhance overall efficiency.
· Infrastructure Maintenance: Develop maintenance plans and strategies to ensure the long-term functionality and reliability of our water infrastructure. Implement preventive measures, conduct inspections, and oversee repairs and upgrades when necessary.

· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Sanitation).
· Pr Eng (Engineering Council of South Africa).
· Proven experience in sanitation projects, waste management, or environmental engineering.
· Strong knowledge of waste management principles, recycling processes, and sanitation infrastructure.
· Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in waste disposal and environmental sustainability.
· Proficiency in project management so?ware and data analysis tools.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
· As the Project Engineer for Sanitation, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing sanitation projects that contribute to the cleanliness, hygiene, and well-being of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
· Project Management: Lead sanitation initiatives, from planning and design to construction and implementation. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including municipal authorities, waste management companies, and community organizations, to ensure successful project execution.
· Waste Management Solutions: Utilize your engineering expertise to develop innovative waste management systems, including waste collection, recycling, composting, and disposal facilities. Incorporate sustainable practices and technologies to minimize environmental impact and promote circular economy principles.
· Data Analysis and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of the municipality's sanitation needs and analyze data to identify areas for improvement. Develop strategic plans and budgets for sanitation projects, considering factors such as population growth, waste generation, and regulatory requirements.
· Environmental Sustainability: Implement measures to mitigate the environmental impact of waste management. Promote initiatives such as renewable energy generation from waste, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and education programs to raise awareness about waste reduction and recycling.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on sanitation regulations and ensure compliance with local, regional, and national guidelines. Ensure that sanitation projects adhere to health and safety standards, waste disposal regulations, and pollution control measures.
 
 
 
 
 
PROJECT ENGINEER: CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT (2 POSITIONS)
SALARY: R 696 000.00 p.a. (Excluding Benefits)
POST LEVEL: 3
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
· Pr Eng (Engineering Council of South Africa) and Pr CPM (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions).
· Proven experience in construction management, preferably within a municipal or public sector environment.
· Strong knowledge of construction principles, codes, regulations, and safety practices.
· Proficiency in project management so?ware and construction-related tools.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
· As the Project Engineer for Construction Management, you will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating construction in the municipality. Your key responsibilities will include:
· Project Planning and Execution: Lead construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and municipal officials to deliver projects that meet the needs of our community.
· Construction Oversight: Provide expert guidance and supervision throughout all phases of construction, including site preparation, building inspections, and compliance with safety regulations. Implement effective quality control measures to ensure high standards of construction.
· Contractor Management: Facilitate effective communication and coordination with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitor performance, resolve issues, and ensure contractual obligations are met. Foster productive relationships to foster a collaborative construction environment.
· Budget and Resource Management: Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation. Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore potential funding sources to support construction initiatives within the municipality.
· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and permits. Prepare comprehensive project reports, ensuring transparency and accountability to stakeholders and municipal authorities.
