The merSETA is the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Education and Training Authority established through the Skills Development Act. This SETA encompasses the metal and engineering, auto manufacturing, motor retail, tyre manufacturing and plastics industries.

We have an excellent opportunity for the following professional to join the Human Resources Unit. 
 
SPECIALIST: RECRUITMENT C3 
Salary Level (Min. to Mid): R449 750 – R538 677 pa 
FIXED TERM CONTRACT: 24 MONTHS

Primary purpose: Specialist Recruitment: The incumbent will be responsible for delivering best-in-class, simplified end to end recruitment services. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring various recruitment performance standards to ensure that support and services are provided in line with established SLAs and critical metrics.




Duties include: 
  • Conduct sourcing activities (vacancy advertising, application screening and shortlisting, interviews and background screening) in order to fill open positions 
  • Prepare appointment files with the required documentation for sign off 
  • Create monthly reports on key talent acquisition metrics 
  • Work closely with marketing department to develop creative ways for addressing recruitment branding challenges 
  • Proactively seek market intelligence to gain competitive advantage in attraction, assessment and sourcing methodologies 
  • Counsel the candidates on merSETA benefit structure as well as corporate culture 
  • Lead the Internship and Disability Recruitment Drives 
  • Administer and submit all hiring paperwork for new employees to HR Ops and Payroll 
  • Ensure recruitment records including appointment files are up to date for audit purpose 
  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Human Resources/Social Sciences/Organisational Development/Psychology/Labour Law/Employment Relations/Business Management/Administration or relevant field 
  • 3 years experience in complex and large organisation with a good track record of high volume recruitment 
 
Public sector experience and strong HR In-house VIP is essential 
  • Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates 
  • Proficient writing skills to produce reports on hiring analyses 
  • In-depth knowledge of hiring strategies, labor laws, and employment equity 
  • Knowledge of HR Policies and Procedures 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
