​FACULTY OF APPLIED AND HEALTH SCIENCES

RETIRED PROFESSOR
Two-Year Contract
 
Key Performance Areas:
• To conduct research and engage in projects within the faculty in areas that have been identified.
• Promote national and international collaborations and partnerships in faculty areas of expertise.
• To mentor academic staff who are pursuing higher qualifications in collaboration with their supervisors.
• To facilitate the writing retreat faculty research workshops
• To assist mentees in the development of co-authored peer-reviewed papers for conference presentations and publishing.
• To publish co-authored articles in accredited journals in the faculty's designated research areas.
• To contribute to any other recognized research outputs of mentees such as books, peer-reviewed conference proceedings and creative outputs.
• Contribute to the acquisition of research grants and contracts.
• Assist with the writing and submission of funding proposals of mentees.
• Organize conferences, research days, workshops, and seminars; and
• Report to Dean’s Office.
 
Minimum Requirements:
• A relevant Doctoral Degree in the broad fields of Social Sciences, Applied and Health Sciences
• Full Professor / Associate Professor
• At least 15 years’ experience in research in relevant areas
• At least 15 accredited journal articles
• Be familiar with the SA higher education environment.
• Experience in facilitating research writing retreat workshops.

Salary Scale: R500 000.00 basic salary per annum.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: AD02 (P7)

• Consultation service to students & communication with stakeholders.
• Internal and external liaison & risk management.
 
Minimum Requirements:
• Post-graduate qualification degree in Social Sciences / Management Sciences / Higher Education / Student Affairs, or related disciplines.
• Five (5) years appropriate experience in student development, student leadership and governance in Higher Education.
 
Recommendation
• Current membership of the National Association of Student Development Practitioners (NASDEV).
