Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is a Water Board established in terms of Water Services Act No 108 of 1997 as a bulk water supply and related water services provider, operating several water purifications works and supply schemes in the Limpopo Province.

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE 
RE-ADVERTISEMENT OF THE EXECUTIVE MANAGER: OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE 
(5 YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT) 
(REF No. HRM/25/25) 
Remuneration package is negotiable at Paterson Broad Band E, considering LNW remuneration standards as well as the level of qualifications and experience. 
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: BEng/BSc (Eng) in Chemical/Civil Engineering or BSc (Hons) (post-graduate degree) in Chemistry, Microbiology or Environmental Science) coupled with 10 – 15 years’ experience in water and wastewater treatment, operations and maintenance of which 5 years must be at senior managerial level. Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA or Professional Natural Scientist registration with SACNASP is mandatory. MEng/MSc (Eng) (Chemical/Civil Engineering) or MSc (Chemistry, Microbiology or Environmental Science) will be an added advantage. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite. 
 
Knowledge required: Sound knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulation and Water Services Act  Sound knowledge of assets care and management  Drinking water quality management  Human Resources  Financial Management and knowledge of ERP system like SAP. 
 
Competencies: Knowledge on change management, engineering principles, project & programme management, strategic management, people’s management and financial management  Must have experience of working in a business / public entity/public sector environment with extensive infrastructure assets  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels  Strong leadership skills. Excellent negotiation, analytical, problem solving, report writing and presentation skills. 
 
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for:  Providing leadership and oversight with respect to water demand management and conservation to ensure water resources are used efficiently and effectively  Coordination of the operations and maintenance activities in all the Regions of LNW water supply areas  Ensure adherence to Water Use license agreement/s  Provide leadership and oversight to LNW Water scientific services to ensure work undertaken for clients is prompt and cost effective to satisfy client expectations  Provide leadership and oversight for water sales for revenue targets, collection and management  Provide oversight on the management of the laboratory to ensure an integrated system management (ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001)  Provide oversight in terms of compliance with drinking water quality standards (SANS 241)  Compile comprehensive quarterly reports for Board and relevant Board Committee  Oversee and lead the budgeting process in compliance with National Treasury guidelines, monitor the utilisation of budgets within the department  Oversee CAPEX and OPEX budgets to ensure cost effective utilisation thereof and implement cost control measures to ensure optimum benefit and maximum risk exposure  Develop and oversee departmental risk profile  Conduct annual strategic planning  Ensure effective and efficient Project management Oversee infrastructure care and management for the organisation  Develop and oversee departmental policies and procedures in line with regulations and LNW business model  Ensure compliance with the relevant legislation, all LNW’s policies and procedures requirements, code of ethics and confidentiality. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE SERVICES 
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST 
(REF No: HRM/26/25) 
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE - POLOKWANE 
MINIMUM SALARY: R882 422.53 per annum on a D-Lower Paterson Broadband (All-inclusive) 
 
Minimum Job Requirements: Degree in Human Resource Management specializing in Learning and Development/Degree in Industrial Psychology / Degree in General Human Resources Management, with at least 4 years relevant experience in Learning & Development of which two years must be at supervisory level. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite. Postgraduate Diploma in in Human Resources or Industrial Phycology and registration with relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage. 
 
Competencies required:  In-depth knowledge of HR policies, systems and procedures and the ability to articulate these at all staff and management levels  Good knowledge of legislation governing employment practices (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA)  Knowledge and application of Performance Management  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills  Customer service orientation  High level of assertiveness  Effective interpersonal skills  Planning and organizing skills, Computer Literacy. 
 
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the incumbent will be responsible for:  Training needs analysis and plans, develops and implements learning and development programs in line with LNW’s Strategic Objectives, Business and Employment Equity Plans  Facilitates learning and development programs in accordance with relevant legislation and ensure alignment with the LNW and individual needs  Identifies learning and development needs and ensure alignment with organizational development initiatives  Develop, maintain and monitor existing learning and development policies and procedures to ensure alignment to business strategies and objectives  Facilitates the implementation of initiated learning and development programs  Conducts induction/refresher courses and awareness workshops for existing and new employees including Management  Develop, compile, implement and manage the learning and development budget  Identifies learning and development risks, develops a risk profile for own area of responsibility and implements approved action plan to mitigate such risks  Research, advise, and implement employment equity initiatives in line with the relevant legislation.  Submit management reports on learning and development, performance management, capacity building strategies  Ensure that the bursaries are managed and monitored in line with the LNW business strategy  Ensure that each training approved and conducted is evaluated to ensure organisational return on investment  Ensure compliance with all LNW’s policies and procedures, code of ethics and confidentiality.

RISK AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER - (REF. N0. HRM/27/25) 
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE 
MINIMUM SALARY: R737 011.98 per annum on a C-Upper Paterson Broadband (All inclusive) 
 
Minimum Job Requirements: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management or Accounting or Auditing coupled with 4 years’ experience in the Risk Management environment, of which 2 years’ experience should be at a supervisory level. A valid driver’s license is a pre-requisite and registration with relevant professional body will be an added advantage. 
 
Competencies:  Must be computer literate (SAP, Barn Owl, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc.)  Excellent organizational and time management skills  Strong business ethics  Service delivery innovations  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels  good presentation skills  report writing skills  ability to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours with minimal supervision. 
 
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for:  Implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework and supporting policies and procedures in line with the organisation’s vision, mission and strategic objectives  Quality and integrity of risk registers as well as aligned ERM process  Populate and communicate risk dashboards to management (monthly and quarterly)  Conducted comprehensive risk assessments, considering legal implications and operational exposures  Scheme specific risk registers developed and maintained  Conclude business impact analysis per site Support related responsibilities attended to (i.e. attending departmental meetings on behalf of the unit etc.)  Developed key success factors  Collated information from organisational committees/ forums for risk identification purposes  Effective opportunities identified per risk to be removed Review key business activities to ensure compliance with standards, policies and regulations  Ensure high risk compliance and governance areas are proactively identified and mitigated  Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices relevant to the organization's sector  Conduct regular internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies  Timeous completion and reporting on any other unit related responsibilities including monthly and quarterly reporting for risk, ethics, compliance and business continuity  Training of employees on all disciplines in the Enterprise Risk Management Unit  Ensure compliance with all LNW’s policies, procedures and code of ethics.

GIS TECHNICIAN - (REF. No. HRM/28/25) 
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE 
MINIMUM SALARY: R737 011.98 per annum on a C-Upper Paterson Broadband (All inclusive) 
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics/Geography Information Science/Cartography coupled with 4 years’ experience in the projects or asset management environment of which 2 years’ experience should be at supervisory level. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite. Registration with relevant professional body will be advantageous.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Infrastructure Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: Developing a wide variety of computerised maps, and map layers  Drafts or digitise the information into a computer data base  Undertakes spatial analysis with regards to GIS projects  Conduct quality assurance on layers for accuracy  Conduct research on GIS technologies to keep up with developments in the geo-spatial industry, introduces new methods/technology for solving spatial data problems  Participates in the relevant GIS forums  Implements new GIS standards  Identifies and correct GIS errors  Establishes and maintains GIS and computer data files  Determines scale, line size and colour to print hard copies of computerised maps  Interprets and research legal descriptions on recorded deeds, servitudes and survey maps  Trains end users to interpret source documents and use automated drafting equipment  Develops and implement a GIS information system policies and procedures  Captures electronically and manages existing and expansion infrastructure information, spatial data from various formats and sources on the GIS information system  Sources spatial information from various data custodians  Advises on the coordination of systems and projects  Updates and maintains Geo-database and all manual and electronic records  Produces customised maps to meet client’s needs  Acquires and maintains GIS equipment, software, data, tools and products as well as updates of GIS software and renewal of licenses  Adheres to pre-established Assessor and GIS mapping conventions and follows pre-established procedures and sequences  Provides geographical support to internal and external stakeholders  Performs on site supervision, planning and implementation of projects  Submits technical reports for the sub unit  Ensure compliance with all LNW’s policies, procedures and code of ethics.
