KEY OUTPUTS
- In-depth knowledge of legislative environment, internal control systems, financial related systems and information, fraud prevention, governance framework and oversight into related committees and how to implement and leverage these within a complex business environment, including:
- Thorough working knowledge of PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, Legal Aid SA Act and other relevant Statutes.
- Working knowledge of King IV Code of Corporate Governance.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES)
- Minimum of three (3) years in a risk/compliance/finance environment, coupled with experience in Accounting, Finance, Auditing and Business Management.
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting/Internal Auditing (BCom).
- Six (6) years in a Finance environment, of which three (3) years at a Supervisory/Management level will be added advantage.
- A demonstrated knowledge of internal process control.
- Experience that would assist the incumbent in driving a service excellence mindset.

KEY OUTPUTS
Manage and monitor the organisation through maintenance of the contract register to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative frameworks:
- Maintain and keep the contract list complete and accurate.
- Ensure that contracts are in place for all relevant services.
- Compile and draft Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in engagement with users and Corporate Legal.
- Ensure that SLAs are in place for all contracted services.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage the contract’s intent, compliance, keep track of delivery and performance.
- Manage changes (additions, modifications and deletions) to the contract with suppliers and business units.
- Keep track of changes and updates to contract documentation.
- Negotiate, administer, extend, terminate and renegotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure that all contracted commitments and critical deliverables are met.
- Ensure that the Legal Services division is consulted regarding contractual non-performance.
- Ensure that expired contracts do not continue running without written approval.
- Manage the contract risk and escalate risks and issues as required.
- Analyse price proposals, final reports and other data to determine the reasonability of price.
- Engage Legal Services regarding compliance occurring in performance contracts.
- Facilitation and formulation of Special Conditions of the contract for inclusion in bids.
- Maintain the procurement plan list and ensure annual targets are achieved.
- Provide reports relating to contracts to various committees.

KEY OUTPUTS

- Assist in preparing bid specifications and ensure Bid Committee members are appointed for all tenders to be advertised.

KEY OUTPUTS
- Train, supervise and guide Candidate Attorneys.
- Co-ordinate legal training at the office.
- Provide individual mentoring and coaching for Legal Practitioners and Candidate Attorneys.
- Assess the quality of the files and work performed by Candidate Attorneys and Legal Practitioners daily.
- Assist the Head of Office with quality assessments.
- Monitor case flow management of Legal Practitioners, Candidate Attorneys and Judicare practitioners at court.
- Assess the quality of Judicare work.
- Monitor and assess the quality of work performed by Co-operation Partners.
- Legal representation in civil matters.
- Ensure that the law library at the office is up to date and adequate.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
- B Proc or LLB.
- Admitted attorney.
- At least seven years’ post-admission legal experience.
- Experience as a Senior Legal Practitioner or equivalent preferable.
- Legal Quality Assurance score of not less than 90%.
- Must be able to mentor and supervise.
- Legal representation and litigation skills.
- Human rights orientation.
- A commitment to professionalism and service excellence.
- A valid code 08 driver’s licence compulsory.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong research capabilities.
- Good administrative skills.
- Strong training and development skills.
Salary Package: SU – 1 R859,749.00 all-inclusive package per annum

KEY OUTPUTS
- Provide civil legal aid to the poor in the coverage area of the unit.
- Handling of complex civil matters.
- Supervise and guide civil Candidate Attorneys and Paralegals.
- Assist in providing support and assistance to civil sections of the office in the designated cluster.
- Represent women, children and vulnerable landless people in all civil matters.
- Perform office administration.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
- Admitted Attorney/Advocate (the latter must have completed pupilage successfully at an institution recognised by Legal Aid SA).
- LLB or B Proc degree.
- At least five years’ post-admission civil experience.
- Right of appearance in the High Court.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
- Team player.
- Self-development orientation.
- A valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
BASIC SALARY: R518,088.00 plus benefits per annum
