DIRECTOR: INFRASTRUCTURE AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
PERMANENT POSITION STATIONED IN KOSTER
SALARY SCALE: Total remuneration package will be in terms of Government Gaze?e No 48789 dated 14 June 2023, (Minimum R884 772.00 per annum, Midpoint R 994 126.00 per annum, Maximum R 1,087 610. 00 per annum)
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering/ B Tech Engineering or equivalent
  • Five years’ experience at middle management level or as programme/ project manager and 3-4 years must be professional / management level engineering management experience
  • The need for signing of an employment contract, a performance agreement and disclosure of financial interest
  • Computer literacy.
  • The need to undergo security vetting
  • The need to undergo competency assessment test
  • Registration with a recognised relevant engineering professional body as an added advantage
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • No criminal record

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must have extensive knowledge of the public office environment; and
  • Must be able to formulate engineering master planning, project management and implementation.
  • Budget and finance management
  • Good Facilitation and communication skills in at least two of three official languages
  • Certificate of competency as required in terms of the General Machinery Regulations, 1988 as an added advantage
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Providing an advisory role to Council regarding all aspects falling within the scope of work and carrying out Council decisions.
  • Development implementation and management of strategic goals, policies, procedure and plans for Directorate aligned with the municipal strategic goals
  • Staff management, strategic planning / support.
  • Technical service management, finance and administration, liaison.
  • Responsible and accountable for all mayor line functions and roles engaged in the processing of core delivery services and the required support function.
  • Leading and directing departmental operations and activities which include: Roads and storm water; refuse removal and sanitation; public works; street lighting, mechanical services, municipal infrastructure development, workplace stores and warehouse and workplace health and safety issues.
