PURPOSE
To provide on-site support and training for the SAP Inventory Management Module
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide 1st and basic 2nd level application specific support on the SAP Plant Management to end-user. Liaise and consult with ERP Support consultants for the quick and effective resolution of SAP PM end-user and application system related problems. Develop documentation (Logic, database design) for each Crystal Report. Maintain existing Crystal Reports and business requirements. Ensure group meeting requests are properly interpreted and documented. Identify end-user training requirements and communicate requirements to the SAP PM Specialist and ERP Manager. Assist the SAP PM Specialist in the development of a SAP PM Training calendar (yearly basis) and training manuals.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF6 or 7), SAP certification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting a business environment (500+ users) in SAP Plant Maintenance.

SENIOR SECRETARY

PURPOSE
To provide administrative support to the Senior Manager: Human Resources.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Filing of correspondence on a daily basis. Creating new files. Compile and consolidate monthly, quarterly reports, as and when required. Ensure that reports are submitted one week before the date of submission by Informing / reminding the relevant managers. Replenish stationery as and when required. Reconcile petty cash book on a weekly basis by ensuring that receipts are recorded accurately and effectively, as and when required. Ensure that the monthly Cost Centre (CC) reports are obtained from Finance and submitted to Managers. Ensure that petty cash float is kept at maximum level. Make national and international travel arrangements as and when required – including travel documentation, car hire, conference bookings, immunizations and foreign currency. Coordinate office functions/meetings as and when required by the Senior Manager: Human Resources. Book venues for meetings/presentations on a regular basis. Arrange equipment’s [laptop, proxima etc] for meetings or presentations as and when required. Book parking for visitors and the Senior Manager: Human Resources when attending meetings outside the office. Schedule appointments and meetings – diarize these for the Senior Manager on a daily basis. Answer incoming calls, take messages screen and channel the calls to the relevant personnel on a daily basis. Attend to queries and complaints received from customers, councilors, public and internal staff where possible or divert calls to relevant officials. Take minutes and type minutes within 72 hours of the meeting. Maintain a level of confidentiality on all correspondence. Capture and process invoices on SAP, as and when required. Obtain a monthly telephone summary from IT for the department.

PURPOSE
Build and maintain raport with vendors and all the relevant stakeholders while working towards expanding the current vendor network.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Draw bank statements on a regular interval during the day to verify vendor deposits. Liaise with vendors regarding money they deposited for loading. Prepare vendor credit load request and send it to the vendor coordinator for loading on a daily basis. Order all equipment and stock required by the Prepayments department. Ensure all Prepayment Purchase Requisitions. Purchase orders and Purchase instructions are processed on time. Engage with suppliers to ensure timeous delivery of goods and services. Perform monthly reconciliation between COJ sales e-venus and the Johannesburg Water’s CDS system to ensure it balances. Perform revenue reconciliation on the Pyxis system. Address all variances with COJ with 15 days from month end. Ensure that vendor refundable deposit is well documented and all supporting documents are kept safe, to facilitate the refund when the contract is terminated. Ensure credit loading requests and bank statements are filed. Prepare monthly reports for the department. Prepare report on customer refunds. Process request for faulty/broken tag refunds. Process request for vendor security deposit refunds at contract termination.

Ensure all work is carried out within statutory safety conditions as laid down in the legislation. Maintain good communication with external customers.

Essential qualifications and experience:
• Grade 9/ABET Level 4 (Numeracy and Literacy) NQF 1
• 3 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of sewer reticulation.

PURPOSE
To effectively manage water disconnections, restrictions, water reinstatements and site validations in order to attain Johannesburg Water and City of Johannesburg financial sustainability through revenue collections.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Allocate daily workload to Meter Technician-Credit Management Disconnections on work received from City of Johannesburg. Schedule quarterly performance management meeting with staff complete and submit performance appraisal documents to management. Ensure on daily basis that cut off instructions and reconnections requests are allocated from CCMS/Manual excel spread sheets emails and cell phone messages to the relevant personnel for execution. Carry out field audit once weekly on work done by the Auditor to ensure that the investigated instructions were correctly completed and the correct stand was visited. Arrange and go out with Metro Police to problematic arears where disconnections needs to be carried out when required. Carry out control audits on field and administrative work daily on work orders on SAP/CCMS. Identify problem arears timorously and implement corrective measures involving management where necessary. Attend to disciplinary hearings and present cases at disciplinary hearing when needed. Conduct quarterly performance appraisals for each staff member and coaching where necessary. Complete appraisal documents. Arrange and chair monthly meetings with City of Johannesburg and Southdale Depot to address problems experienced. Audit work reported to the Depot to ensure subordinates capture data correctly. Submit reports to Manager on work progress. Ensure data capturing and information meets Johannesburg Water standards. Check and sign vehicle lo-sheets with subordinates.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Grade 12 (NQF 4). Credit Management/Finance or Management Related Diploma (NQF 6)
• Must have 5 years in meter auditing or investigation experience in a municipal or similar environment of which 3 years must be related to Meter Auditing or Disconnections.
• Supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of the various management information systems namely: MRQC, GIS, and Routemaster.
• Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Knowledge of municipal By-laws to water services

PURPOSE
To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electrical plant and equipment at wastewater works to achieve the highest plant and equipment availability with full regard for the safety of employees. To perform standby or after hour duties as and when required.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out implemented standards, policies under the direction of the Operational and Electrical Manager. Liaise with process and mechanical staff to ensure maximum plant availability to ensure compliance with wastewater effluent quality permit, as well as raw sewage spills target. Ensure and promote workplace safety in terms of OHASA, SANS and any other applicable codes of practice. Effectively manage, develop and motivate subordinates towards the achievement of the section’s strategies and objectives. Carry out the scheduling, installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment, including motors and associated control equipment including actuators and MV equipment situated at the Electro- Mechanical section. Keep abreast of, and where possible, implement new technology to ensure continuous, reliable and safe supply of services and availability of plant. Monitor and implement safety requirements of all Electrical Installations, facilities and staff in compliance with OHAS act including safety notices at all electrical installations, firefighting equipment and lifting equipment at the works. Carry out standby duties and after hours duties as required and report and record all faults that occurred after hours to assist management with reducing future un-necessary overtime.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Grade 10 or N1 Electrical (NQF 2) + electrical trade test certificate.
• 3 years’ experience on motors and motor controllers such as Soft starters, Direct on line and Star Delta starters. Basic experience on PLC’S and VSD’S .Experience on ultrasonic level controllers and actuators

Manage functions of all aspects of physical and analytical work required to reduce unaccounted for water (UFW) in the Region.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, prioritise and ensure that the monthly leak detection and UFW reduction targets are met for the specific region. Monitor the daily tasks conducted by the staff pertaining to data collection, leak detection and meter readings. Manage personnel in terms of Conditions of Service and IR policies. Monitor and enforce safety requirements in the workplace. Inform Physical Loss Manager with the annual capital (CAPEX) and operating budgets (OPEX) estimates. Ensure that productivity levels and costs are kept within estimates and targets. Control expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives. Liaise with contractors and suppliers on an Ad hoc basis to ensure that all outsourced work is completed within agreed timeframes. Liaise with other Johannesburg Water departments as and when required.

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Civil engineering (NQF 6).
• 2 years’ experience in operations and maintenance of water reticulation, with background in water demand management of which 1 year must at a supervisory level.
