GRAPHIC DESIGNER 
Employment Status : Permanent 
Department : Corporate Services 
 
Purpose of the Job: To provide optimal drive and promotion of the JOSHCO brand to increase visibility and to create interactive communication products for a diverse clientele. 
 
Responsibilities (but not limited to the following): 
  • Ensure all communication products for internal and external stakeholders and events/activations are branded accordingly. 
  • Developing digital and print-ready communication products targeted at internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Develop new design/ graphic concepts, and layouts in accordance with the JOSHCO CI manual. 
  • Create synergy between JOSHCO and the City of Johannesburg`s branding. 
  • Capture pictures and videos to create promo videos. 
  • Create animated motion pictures to promote JOSHCO messages. 
  • Ensure full implementation of the CI manual templates. 
  • Load content management on the website, intranet, and social media platforms. 
  • Compose/compile and edit corporate brochures, videos, flyers, etc. 
  • Operate and manage the PA system/sound system for events. 
  • Create visual concepts for social media platforms. 
  • Must be committed to work flexible hours. 
  • Produce quality work and meet deadlines. 
  • Handle multiple projects once and again. 
  • Come up with new concepts and create samples for digital and print. 
 
Requirements, interested applicants must be in possession of: 
  • Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design or related qualification. 
  • At least 3+ years of working experience as a Graphic Designer. 
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS languages. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe CS Suite (Proficient in Illustrator /In design/ Photoshop). 
  • Good design principle practices and strong web/digital knowledge. 
  • Website content update and posting of adverts. 
  • Basic print knowledge and knowledge in interpreting the organization’s CI. 
  • Basic knowledge of photography, videography, and editing. 
  • Basic knowledge of animation, motion graphics 
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required. 
  • High level of competency in designing across desktop, mobile, and web applications. 
  • Must be able to design for digital and print on occasion. 
  • Knowledgeable of abilities for social media designs. 
  • A keen eye for detail and perfect alignment. Attention to detail is key. 
  • Accustomed to working on tight deadlines and the ability to manage workflow. 
  • HTML and CSS knowledge to create mailshots for email marketing clients. 
  • Drone operation is an added advantage.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR 
Employment Status : Permanent 
Department : Housing Development 
 
Purpose of the Job: The incumbent will be expected to assist with the development of building cost and space norms and quantification thereof; including costing of towards the MTREF budget framework requirements and project specifications .Prepare reports on projected costs for feasibility of projects. Develop financial models for various projects. Advise and support project managers on Quantity surveying related matters e.g. Verify building cost estimates; preparing project cost estimates; and preparing of tender BOQs. 
 
Responsibilities (but not limited to the following): 
  • Overseeing the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. 
  • Overseeing the establishment of project requirements and undertaking of feasibility studies. 
  • Advising management on procurement strategy. 
  • Providing 'Order of Magnitude' costs for construction projects. 
  • Managing the refinement, monitoring and controlling of costs during design development. 
  • Preparing and monitoring project cash-flow forecasts. 
  • Measuring, valuing and recommending variation approvals. 
  • Developing annual project budgets in conjunction with the Program Manager: Planning. 
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control. 
  • Valuing completed work and making recommendations for payments. 
  • Monitoring project expenditure against budgets and project deliverables. 
  • Addressing any project budget variances. 
  • Providing feedback and input to the overall JOSHCO budget as required.

  • Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or Bachelor degree in any built environment field 
  • Honours or Master’s degree will be an advantage.

  • Five (5) - seven (7) years’ post qualification experience, preferably in a construction contracting environment. 
 
The following would be advantageous 
  • Construction Project Management experience.

Purpose of the Job: Is to become the first point of contact for technical issues and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of JOSHCO ICT systems. Provide efficient and effective support to resolve a wide range of IT-related problems. Risk and vulnerability management to ensure operation stability of the organizational IT resources. 
 
Responsibilities (but not limited to the following): 
  • Provide prompt and courteous first-line technical support via phone, email, or in-person to end-users experiencing IT issues. 
  • Ensure all Incident requests are logged on the JOSHCO IT Service Management Console and assigned to the relevant support team 
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams when necessary. 
  • Assist in user account creation, password resets, and access permissions, following security protocols. 
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems on end-user devices 
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. 
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions, and IT inventory

Purpose of the Job: Is to support Security strategic direction for the infrastructure function and Internal and external customers regarding security principals on IT projects and IT services Risk and vulnerability management to ensure operation stability of the organizational IT resources.
