OPERATIONS MANAGER INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT (REF: 13/2024/40) 
SALARY: R1, 900, 458.16 – R2, 812, 624.50 PER ANNUM TCTC (ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE) 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the development of new roads and public transport infrastructure.
• Provide input into the development of public transport infrastructure planning.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of roads and public transport infrastructure in the planning and design of new as well as upgrades to existing roads and public transport infrastructure.
• Ensure the development of new roads and stormwater infrastructure.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of roads and stormwater systems in the planning and design of new as well as upgrades to existing roads and stormwater infrastructure.
• Ensure that SMME (including cooperatives) development objectives are accounted for and effectively implemented.
• Assist the HOD to extract, analyse and prioritise needs from critical input sources such as the Integrated Development Plan; Integrated Transport Plan; Community needs assessments; Visual Condition Index; and needs channelled from other JRA departments.
• Manage the compliance in contracting processes, procedures and documentation.
• Monitor the appointment of consultants and contractors.
 
REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
• BSc/ BEng degree or BTech Civil Engineering
• Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA or in the process of application (must obtain within 1 year)
• 10 years’ experience in managing projects related to community streets, stormwater, Roads, Freeways and Public Transport Infrastructure inclusive of 5 years’ experience in a middle management position, of which 1 must be at senior management level.
• A project management certification such as Professional Construction Project Manager (PrCPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) will be an added avandage.
• Public sector experience.
 
The position will be based at the JRA’s Head Office in Johannesburg.

DEPOT MANAGER: REGION A & B (REF: 13/2024/41) 
SALARY: R1 291 696.86 – R1 899 482.60 PER ANNUM TCTC (ALL - INCLUSIVE PACKAGE) 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the depot and ensure effective and productive operations.
• Implement the operational plan in line with the allocated budget.
• Implement sound governance practices in terms of structures, systems, processes, policies, procedures and controls for the unit that ensure delivery on strategic and operational objectives.
• Conduct sufficient risk management in the unit’s operations so that liability is minimised and or eliminated.
• Provide assurance that the existing controls and mitigating factors exert the intended modifying effect for the unit.
• Manage and oversee the processes of people management and development for the unit.
• Ensure the management of the unit’s budget in compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and Treasury regulations.
• Ensure adequate stakeholder management that provides feedback and accounts for business operations in terms of accomplishments and future plans.
 
REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
• BSc degree in Civil Engineering or relevant NQF level 7 equivalent.
• 8 years’ Civil Engineering experience, inclusive of 5 years in a middle management position.
• Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA or in the process of application (must obtain within 1 year)
