ELECTRICIAN
Salary: R21 923.34- R28 855.22 per month plus benefits
 
JOB PURPOSE
Under general supervision perform maintenance and repairs on facility electrical systems components. Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls. Lay out and install new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches To ensure that all electrical systems are maintained to perform the duties and functions as expected (including High voltage, Medium voltage, Low voltage)
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check and replace faulty switches, sockets, and other simple elements of electrical systems such as lighting fixtures, tube and ballasts. Connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment; splice wires as required. Inspect and test electrical lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits. Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. Measure, cut, thread, and install electrical conduit. Pull wiring through conduit. Install and maintain various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers. Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement. Install grounding leads. Interpret blueprints; work from sketches or verbal instructions. Test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and new services to include panels, breakers, and conduit. Mount motors and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specifications. Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing, instruments. 
Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls. Perform work in all the three phase installation. Perform work in all the electrical chambers (medium and high volt) Eradicate breakdowns and provide standby support Check, analyze and give monthly report on the status Diagnose faults through inspections and testing. Supervise contractors to ensure correct work standards and compliance with OHSA. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering/NQF level 6 plus Trade Test with Wireman License
4 Years relevant experience
