We are seeking to appoint motivated employees in the following positions:
PLANETARIUM PRESENTER (SESSIONAL)
Remuneration: Fixed rate per show
Term: October 2022 to April 2023

Requirements:
- BSc/BEng/Diploma in any Astronomy/Space Science/Natural Science/ or Science and Engineering related field (a postgraduate qualification is advantageous)
- Excellent computer skills (knowledge of programming and/ audiovisual skills are advantageous)
- Good proven English communication and presentation skills (fluency in Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa would be advantageous)
- Up to date knowledge of developments in astronomy and space science
Key Responsibilities:
- To facilitate and present planetarium shows for the general public, learners and education groups on a sessional basis
- To answer astronomy or planetarium related queries from members of the public
- To provide feedback and input relating to Astronomy to the Planetarium Manager and other presenters for the purposes of keeping up to date with the latest trends in the field
- To assist the Planetarium Manager and the Director: Education as required when on duty.
Working Hours: Sessional, as and when required to present shows as per the Planetarium public show schedule provided by the Planetarium Manager.
