Manages the electrical services department, ensuring that efficient electrical supply is made available to all customers and is always maintained at the required standards in compliance with the relevant legislation.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be:
• Always ensure electricity supply to customers.
• Schedule planned maintenance -liaise with customers to ensure production is not affected.
• Verify compliance certificate for all electrical installations before installations is connected to the supply.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to all safety legislation (OHSA)
• Keep all customers informed regarding power dips / power outages.
• Report, Investigate and correct exceptions where applicable.
• Address supply problems in consultations with Portfolio Engineer.
• Compile department’s annual budgets for meeting operational and capital requirements.
• Support transformation and equity policy of the organisation in line with current legislation.

The following minimum requirements must be met to be considered for this position:
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Heavy Current (S4) or Electrician Trade Test Qualification (Minimum N6).
• 5 years managerial/supervisory experience
• Wireman’s Licence
• MW- HV Switching Course.
• Maintenance and switching experience up to 132KV.
• Physically fit and strong.
• Work is office / field based.
• Valid Code B Driver’s License.

• Good communication skills (Ability to communicate in IsiZulu will be advantageous.
