An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to assume the position of HV Switching Officer.
The successful candidate’s duties will include the following:
• Carrying out inspections.
• Taking meter readings.
• Taking oil samples from electrical equipment.
• Appropriate external resources are deployed to electrical equipment to maintain equipment.
• Repairing and installing cables and equipment.
• Switching load distribution.
• Installing new equipment.
• Assist Aftercare department.
• Providing employees with resources
• Developing employees.
• Manage subordinates, performance and provide feedback.
• Plan & implement work schedules.
• Safety standards are adhered to in accordance with legislation.
• Required to do standby duties and work weekends (overtime).
The following entry requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position:
• Trade Test with Wireman license (Qualified Electrician)
• HV Switching Certificate
• Code 8 Driver’s Licence
• Possess the appropriate exposure to the electrical infrastructure.
• The individual must have supervision experience.
• 2 years exp Experience of switching at 11KV and 132 KV.
• Have clear understanding of the OHS Act.
• Travel required and preferably with own car for call outs etc.
