An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic leader with the appropriate qualifications and experience to assume the position of a Head: Credit
 
 
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal individual would be required to: 
 Assume the executive responsibilities pertaining to strategic credit risk management programme. 
 Identify existing or potential credit risks and exercise control and minimize them. 
 Develop and implement sound and prudent credit policies. 
 Develop and manage effective credit granting and collection systems. 
 Develop and implement comprehensive procedures. 
 Evaluate and approve\disapprove proposed new loans. 
 Manage the quality of the loans portfolio. 
 Develop effective communication with internal divisions. 
 Develop and evaluate new systems and procedures. 
 Prepare credit risk DI returns for Reserve Bank and certify correctness on monthly basis. 
 Induct staff, and manage their performance. 
 Managing staff development. 
 
 
The following entry requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position: 
 Postgraduate degree in commerce or business. 
 A minimum of at least eight (8) years’ experience in credit risk management within the financial services. 
 Vast experience in strategic management of credit related projects including advocating the discipline at executive management structures. 
 Exceptional knowledge of credit management including the related statutory requirements. 
 Strong people management skills. 
 High level of analytical and problem solving skills. 
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
 Knowledge of Banks Act and other relevant legislation. 
 Be a catalyst for change and visionary leadership. 
 Good interpersonal skills. 
 Assertiveness skills. 
 Negotiation skills. 
 Persuasiveness and influential skills. 
 Computer literacy - Word processing, spreadsheets and other financial institution type systems.
