BURSARY SCHEME
AT ITHALA DEVELOPMENT FINANCE CORPORATION, WE RECOGNISE THE NEED TO DEVELOP KEY SKILLS WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.
TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE SKILLS POOL IN KWAZULU-NATAL, ITHALA HAS ESTABLISHED A BURSARY SCHEME TO ASSIST QUALIFYING MATRICULANTS, BASED IN THE PROVINCE, TO ACQUIRE TERTIARY QUALIFICATIONS IN SPECIFIED FIELDS OF STUDY AT RECOGNISED TERTIARY EDUCATION INSITUTIONS IN SOUTH AFRICA
APPLICATION PROCESS
Prospective candidates must obtain the application form from the Ithala website at www.ithala.co.za, or from Ithala Offices and Branches within KwaZulu-Natal.
The completed application forms can be submitted via email to dreams@ithala.co.za, via post, courier or self-delivery at any Ithala Branch or Office.
1. To qualify for selection, learners must meet the following criteria;
• Mid-year Grade 11 results must be an average of 70% or more.
• The learner must submit mid-year Grade 12 results.
• The learner must be a South African citizen and KZN resident
Ithala will verify all the information provided in the application.
2. The 2019 application process for entry into Higher Education in 2020 is as follows:
• Applications are now available from the Ithala website, Branches and Offices.
• Applications must reach Human Resources Development by 29 November 2019.
• Feedback will be provided to applicants under consideration during January 2020.
• Provisionally accepted applicants must submit their NSC results and confirmation of placement for their chosen course of study at a university or university of technology, as soon as received early in January 2020.
• Applicants must follow up with their tertiary institution to ensure their place is confirmed.
• Interviews for the final 10 short listed candidates will take place during January 2020.
• Provisionally accepted applicants will be contacted by end of January 2020.

Successful applicants will qualify for the following under the Ithala Bursary Scheme:
• Registration and tuition fees
• Accommodation and meals
• Stationery
• Monthly stipend
EXCLUSION
All other costs that fall outside of the Bursary Scheme policy.
