Synopsis
To perform Basic Accounting and Administration including Bank Reconciliation and petty cash.
 
Job Description
Banking:
  • Reconcile and analyse bank statements for ABSA, FNB and Standard Bank daily.
  • Check and follow up general ledger bank clearing accounts.
  • Clear open items, update and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Handle ad-hoc bank queries.
  • Prepare SAP reconciliation’s daily and print reports.
  • Park cashbook journals.
  • Perform general administrative functions such as photocopying, faxing, emailing information to different departments.
Loans taken and Support Programme Industrial Innovation (SPII):
  • Ensuring that invoices have been appropriately authorized.
  • Prepare payment run on Accounts Payable (SPII).
  • Process payments on loans taken.
  • Maintain and print monthly statements.
  • Prepare monthly treasury report for (SPII).
Petty Cash:
  • Processing of monthly petty cash for regional offices.
  • Investigate and successfully resolve all general expenses queries.
  • Allocate all receipts and payments to the general ledger codes.
Filing:
  • General filing and archiving of documentation.
 
Qualification and Experience
  • National Diploma in Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Bank reconciliations and Petty cash.
  • Microsoft Office specifically experience using Excel and prior SAP experience would be preferable.
  • Accounting knowledge.
  • Good understanding of general ledger journals.

Synopsis
Financial reporting and management of the 3rd Party Funds that IDC Manages or Administers.
 
Job Description
Key functions of the position include:
Daily Tasks
•Acting as checker, releaser for IDC payments (AP process)
•Acting as poster for all Fund related transactions into the SAP system
•Calculating expected returns for funds in line with the funds department and maintaining the same in SAP
•Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as requested
•Prepare or review for posting the journals and duly authorised payments
•Review payment proposals
•Provide financial support and advice to fund managers
Monthly Tasks
•Cash updates to Fund Managers including inflows, disbursements, commitments (Monthly Dashboard)
•Provide financial support and advice to fund managers
•Updating or reviewing of the interest on IDC company as well as on each Fund
•Reconciliations of Cash balances of for 3rd party funds
•Review and posting the journals and Funds payments
•Reporting on 3rd party funds and cash balances for the IDC company
Quarterly Tasks
•Recording IMC adjustments (ECL) to Funds that extend loans (MCEP, KIPP, CTFLGP etc.) as ECL runs are completed
•Quarterly financials update (Quarterly dashboard) for fund reporting by fund managers to relevant departments
•Monitoring of all collateral relating to Funds that disburse loans
Annual Tasks
•Annual preparation of financials in accordance with relevant accounting framework
•Managing the external audit of each of the funds (and liaising with loans, FAV, CSG, Risk departments) for necessary input
•Keeping all loan related funds up to date in terms of IFRS 9, day 1 calculations, modifications etc.
•Preparing the annual cash balance confirmations for the IDC Audit
•Manage the impairment and fair value of financial instruments
 
Qualification and Experience
•Degree in Accounting or related field
•CA(SA) qualification advantageous
•5 years’ experience in the private or DFI space with strong IFRS experience
•Knowledge of public sector regulations and PFMA experience – Desirable
•Experience with IFRS 9 and accounting for expected credit losses – Desirable
•Experience dealing with internal and external auditors and stakeholder management
•Relationship building skills – stakeholder management skills
•SAP & SAPDM Skills – desirable

Synopsis
• To provide a comprehensive and strategic support to the Divisional Executive by providing day to day oversight of operational matters and supporting the long-term planning, execution and measurement of developmental and deal activity across the division and other Divisions where the Divisional Executive may be allocated a role.
•To serve as strategic advisor and counsel to Divisional Executive.
 
Job Description
• To monitor, evaluate and measure the timeous implementation of strategic objectives in the division and prepare presentations for various boards and committees.
• Support the co-ordination, planning and alignment of divisional activities and other Divisions where the Divisional Executive may be allocated a role
• To support effective project delivery, monitoring and reporting by coordinating key and strategic projects in line with an approved and user-friendly project management framework/approach, and appropriate reporting templates.
• Overseeing consistent resolution and management of complaints, ensuring root cause analysis is performed and identifying trends for business improvement and risk management purposes
 
Qualification and Experience
• At least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax.
• A post graduate degree would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in field of discipline.
• Experience in Financial analysis/Investment Management /State Owned Entities and/or development finance entities and understanding of all applicable regulatory, legislative and governance principles is preferred.
• Understanding of sustainable banking imperatives and environmental, social and governance requirements would be an advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities
Financial/ Shareholder Returns
• To manage the divisional budget and cost centres. Consolidating budget reports in the Division.
• To assist in reporting activities and preparing comparative reports.
Internal/ Operational Processes
• To assume day-to-day responsibility for projects and tasks and coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives.
• To create and maintain cross-departmental relationships
• To assess inquiries directed to the Divisional Executive, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to ensure resolution achieved.

Synopsis

• Enable the quality assurance function for all outputs from the Office of the CEO, including briefing notes, communiqués, reports, and stakeholder correspondence, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and alignment with IDC’s tone and standards.
