WAREHOUSING OFFICER - GAUTENG PROVINCE [REF NR: PO – 0651]

Remuneration: An inclusive remuneration package of R445, 974 per annum
Overview
The purpose of this position is to carry out duties, and responsibilities related to, warehousing services for the Provincial Electoral Office. This position report to the SAO Warehousing.
Responsibilities/Duties
Receiving of all goods within the warehouse, pick and pack according to the requirements and relevant procedures, perform quarterly stock count, identify and communicate possible risks related to the warehouse function, communicate stock losses and discrepancies to management, ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements are adhered to within the warehouse. Distribute election materials & equipment; track all distribution and retrieval of supplies, to maintain accountability and probity to meet operational needs of voting; use direct distribution from the warehouse, or staged distribution to voting stations; apply strict controls for accountable voting materials and valuable supplies, including making available a full audit trail of delivery and receipt documentation for accountable materials, from the time that supplies leave the warehouse to their return following voting day; provide recording of locations of supplies at any time to be rigorously maintained and personal accountability for their safekeeping enforced; implement pick-up instructions and convey them to local MEO staff, including stressing the importance of the roll back of election material and other resources;
check-in and verify material, prepare materials for secure storage, reuse, or disposal; where large quantities require distribution, stagger delivery to allow detailed checking of loads delivered into warehouses before transport departs, and that transfer documents (supplier delivery dockets, own supply control records) are annotated for any differences to the expected delivery and endorsed by the local MEO staff, ensure accurate and timeous delivery of materials from suppliers to meet deadlines; ensure provision of transportation for delivery and collection of materials is reliable, secure and timeous, know locations of MEO storage facilities in province and regular visits to ensure cleanliness; coordination of storage facility, logistics, infrastructure and related tasks in support of electoral events, tracking of all distribution, developing and implementing clear pick-up instructions; develop process for roll back of election material and other resources.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be in possession of a Bachelors' Degree or three year National Diploma with at least 2 years relevant working experience; knowledge of the Electoral Commission and election related matters will be advantageous; qualification in warehousing or logistics is an added advantage; basic knowledge of SAP System, material management using SAP application will be advantageous , office administration skills; good verbal and written communication skills; good organizing skills and basic computer literacy; project management experience will be advantageous; possess a valid driver's license and must be prepared to travel.

Applicants must be a South African citizen, who has not had a prominent political profile in the last 5 years.
