PURPOSE :To manage procurement processes through a systematic and research based approach for consolidating the organisations’ spend with high quality vendors to achieve cost effectiveness and to comply with the relevant legislation. 
REPORTING : General Manager: SCM 
 
REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of a Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Purchasing Management and /or related fields. A certificate of competence in an accredited SCM training programme from a credible institution will be an added advantage. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Supply Chain Management environment. Minimum of three years at managerial level. At least two (2) years’ technical experience in the construction or build environment is essential. 
Competencies: Extensive knowledge and experience in Supply Chain Management prescripts is vital, Knowledge of the PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations, CIDB regulations, SCM Instruction and Practice Notes is essential, Applicants must be able to work under pressure; The ability to manage staff; Must be able to draft relevant Standard operating procedure manuals / policies; The ability to work Independently and be willing to work overtime when necessary; People management and Report writing.

Minimum of a Post Graduate Degree in the Built Environment and a qualification in management and/or development studies. A qualification in Project Management and professional registration. A minimum of 10 years’ management experience within the built environment, 5 of which must have been at a senior management level. Exposure to the government infrastructure delivery programmes and projects – social infrastructure delivery as per the mandate of the IDT.
