INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
 
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions: 
 
POST : COMPANY SECRETARY 
JOB LEVEL : DU 
REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE 
LOCATION : PRETORIA 
DURATION : 5 YEAR CONTRACT 
PORTFOLIO : OCEO 
 
PURPOSE : Serve as a link between the CEO, the board, and EXCO. Handle all sub committees to these structures, governance & compliance. 
 
REPORTING : Chief Executive Officer and the Board. 
 
 
REQUIREMENTS : Qualification in Law e.g. BA Law/LLB / Corporate Law or CIS (Company Secretariat & Compliance qualification). Registration as Chartered Secretary (CSSA). Minimum 10 years’ experience of which 5 years as company secretary. 
Competencies: Event Management, Corporate Governance Principles, Contract Administration, Office Administration, Document Management, Budget Management, Organisational Objectives and Understanding and experience in relevant legislation. 
Skills: Planning Skills, Coordinating Techniques, Administrative Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Report writing Skills, Information Management Capacity, Facilitation Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Conflict Management Skills, Decision Making, Time Management and Strategic Thinker 
 
DUTIES :Effective management of Board and Committee meetings, Identification of submissions required and compilation of the agenda, Liaison with Chairpersons of Subcommittees and the Board, Governance & Compliance, Financial Management, Training and staff development and Handle Documents and Legal Requirements.
