INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
 
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions:  
 



COMMITTEE OFFICER 
JOB LEVEL : CU 
REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE 
LOCATION : PRETORIA 
DURATION : PERMANENT 
PORTFOLIO : OCEO 
PURPOSE :To assist with the provision of full range company secretariat, governance and compliance functions enabling the IDT to comply with applicable regulatory and legislative prescripts. 
REPORTING : Company Secretary 
 
REQUIREMENTS: Professional/Advanced qualification through Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa, or Btech/Degree in Business Management/Administration, /Degree in Law or Relevant Degree. 4-5 Years’ experience in company secretariat, governance, legal/regulatory environment. 
Competencies: Diary Management, Administration Management, File Management, Document and records management, Companies Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury Regulations, King Report on Corporate Governance, Stakeholder management. 
Skills: Administrative Skills, Filing Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills (written and oral), Computer literacy, Ability to work under pressure, Co-ordination Skills, Telephone Etiquette, Organization Skills, Secretarial Skills, Queries Handling Skills. 
 
DUTIES :To guide committees on their duties, responsibilities and powers. To provide comprehensive and professional company secretarial service/support. To assist with the monitoring of compliance with legislative prescripts, corporate governance practices and terms of reference. To champion the proper running of secretarial unit and related administrative functions.

GENERAL MANAGER: FINANCE 
JOB LEVEL: DU 
REGION: NATIONAL OFFICE 
LOCATION: PRETORIA 
DURATION: 5 YEAR CONTRACT 
PORTFOLIO: FINANCIAL SERVICES UNIT 
PURPOSE: To manage and provide leadership to the organisations financial management function which entails assisting the CFO and the Accounting Authority in discharging the relevant duties under Part 2 of Chapter 6 of the Public Financial Management Act. 
REPORTING: Chief Financial Officer 
 
REQUIREMENTS: :A minimum of a post graduate Honours degree in Accounting as a major. CA (SA). Minimum 9 years finance management experience of which 3 years were at senior management level. 
Competencies: PFMA Act and related legislation, Accounting, Auditing, Public Service Act and Related legislation-partial, Tax legislation, GAAP, Financial Management, Business Planning, Budget Management, PFMA and relevant national treasury regulations, Strategic Management, Management Information Systems, Financial Reporting, Financial Ratio Analysis, Financial accounting standards and Project Accounting. 
Skills: Communication (verbal written), Computer literacy (MS Office)-Great Plains, Organizational / Planning, Negotiating, Leadership, People Management, Analytical skills, A team player/ leader, Networking, Creative and Lateral Thinker, Conceptual, Visionary thinking, Analytical, Interpersonal, Talent Building, Communication, Problem Solving, Business Acumen, Negotiation and Presentation. 
 
DUTIES: Develop, implement and maintain sound Financial Accounting and Management Systems and Internal Controls, Provision of Financial Accounting Services, Provision of Management Accounting Services, Provision of Asset Management Services, Provision of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with PFMA and SA GAAP/IFRS, Sub-unit financial management and governance and Sub-unit leadership and management.
