JOB TITLE : MARKET ANALYST – RETAIL SERVICES
JOB LEVEL : C4
SALARY : Total Annual Package (CTC) – R579,177.00
REPORTING TO : Manager: Retail Services
LOCATION : ICASA (Head Office – Centurion)
POSITION STATUS : Permanent
Purpose of the job
● Conduct analysis of the tariff notifications received periodically and draft respective reports ● Assess retail market trends and produce draft competition analysis reports as and when required ● Produce benchmark and research reports on retail market and services issues as required by the Manager. ● Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on economic and competition and market related issues within the Retail Markets and assist with drafting of respective reports.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Retail Services, and their responsibilities will include: ● Provide research input and analysis into a valid market structure, network access and competition regulatory environment from an economic standpoint, with a focus on retail services ● Conduct research into economic issues relating to access to ICT services and draft research reports ● Provide input and assistance to the Manager in conducting RIAs and demand studies ● To keep abreast with developments in the regulation of ICT services and monitor related trends through production of relevant ICT Sector reports on a periodic basis;
● Provide economic interpretation and regulatory support, including the area of market reviews ● Provide economic interpretation and regulatory support, including in the area of market reviews, market Inquiry, market/competition assessment and market definition studies; ● Provide input in developing a consistent regulatory agenda to promote competition and enhanced economic efficiency of the ICT Sector; ● Assist Council, Divisional and Cross-Divisional Committees and Project Teams by conducting research, providing competition assessment, providing written inputs, and producing research and/or retail market analysis reports.
Qualifications and Experience: ● 3-year degree (NQF Level 7) in Economics or Finance ● 3 - 5 years professional experience ● 4 – 6 years working experience of which 3 must be in research field ● Proven track record of conducting economic research in the ICT sector ● Proven track record of working with qualitative and quantitative methods ● Proven track record on conducting research and drafting research reports ● Proven analytical skills ● Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
