GAUTENG GAMBLING BOARD (GGB)
 
The Gauteng Gambling Board (GGB) is a statutory body established in terms of Section 3 of the Gauteng Gambling Act, No 4 of 1995, as amended (the Act).
 
GGB seeks to engage a strong leader who has business savvy with proven leadership experience, for the position of Chief Operations Officer (C00), on a 5 years contract. As a COO you will be expected to deliver the mandate of the organization through the strategic management of operations of the Gauteng Gambling Board.

Qualifications Skills and Requirements: • The ideal candidate must possess a Masters' Degree in Legal orCommerce from a recognized University, • A minimum of 10 years' experience in strategic leadership, of which 5 years is at an executive management level, • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations management • The leading candidate will have advanced knowledge of the gambling industry, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in gambling regulation • Excellent inter-personal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate well across disciplines, key government institutions and business partners. • Experience in leading transformation within an organisation • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 
Key Performance Areas: • Facilitate the development of the GGB's 5 year Business Plan in consultation with the CEO and Executive team members and prepare a draft strategy for approval by the CEO and Board.
 • Support the CEO with the implementation of strategy through tracking and monitoring departmental performance and reporting to the Department of Economic Development (DED) on organizational performance. • Champion the delivery of operational excellence throughout the business. • Provide strategic advice to the business and the Board on licensing matters. • Make recommendations to the Board on proposed legislative amendments. • Ensure compliance to national and provincial legislature. • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements for submission to the CEO and Board • Ensure stakeholder relations management through participation in local and international regulatory forums, amongst others. • Ensure that work is delivered in accordance with the defined ethics and values of the organization. • Provide leadership in creating a working environment which contributes to improving staff morale through collaboration and integration of teams.
 
 
The appointment is subject to signing an annual performance agreement
