SALARY RANGE : Total Annual Package (CTC) – R412,526.00-R485,325.00

POSITION STATUS : Three - Year Fixed Term Contract
 
Purpose of the job
To ensure effective and efficient administration of ICASA’s fleet, assets allocated to Corporate Services: Facilities, coordination of multi-function printing services in line with ICASA’s official business and to ensure strict compliance with the agreed service standards, prescribed policies and procedures.
 
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager Administration, and their responsibilities will include: ● Fleet Management ● Ensure efficient and effective physical assets management allocated to Corporate Services: Facilities ● Multi-function printers Management.
 
Qualifications and Experience: ● 3-year Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Business/Office Administration/Business Management/Finance or Public Administration (NQF level 6) ● 2 years working experience in fleet management ● 1 year Specialist experience, preferably in management of multifunction printers and assets ● Computer literate.
 
Key Competencies and Attributes: ● Attention to Detail ● Proper records retention ● Results driven ● Good customer services ● Able to work under pressure ● Interpersonal Skills.

INVITATION TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE STANDARDS LIAISON COMMITTEE OF THE INDEPENDENT COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY OF SOUTH AFRICA: SIX (6) POSITIONS.
 
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is a public entity responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications, broadcasting and postal industries in South Africa, as mandated by the ICASA Act, No 13 of 2000, and Electronic Communications Act, No 36 of 2005.
ICASA hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve on its Standards Liaison Committee (SLC) at its Head Office in Centurion for a period of three (3) years subject to review on recommendation by Council.
Prospective candidates must be South African citizens and have relevant expertise/knowledge in the electronic communications, broadcasting or postal services which will enable them to effectively advise the Authority on neutrality, application of expertise, and the promotion of safety of products within the ICT sector amongst others.
 
Roles and Responsibilities: In terms of the ICASA Act and the Electronic Communications Act (Act 36 of 2005), the SLC is vested with certain powers to, amongst others, identify areas where standards are needed, identify emerging trends, determine whether existing standards are still relevant to South Africa, make recommendations on standards proposed for adoption to the ICASA Council and make recommendations on licensing and/or certification procedures to be followed.
 
Required qualifications: The applicants must be in possession of an appropriate Postgraduate technical tertiary qualification and/or engineering qualifications.
 
Experience: Seven (7) or more years of experience in the electronic communications sector with extensive knowledge in one or more of the following fields: development and drafting of electronic communications technical standards.

Selection Procedure: Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews, to be conducted by a panel appointed by ICASA Council. It will be the prerogative of the Council to make final appointments upon recommendation by the shortlisting and interview committee. A member of SLC must be fit and proper in accordance with the ICASA Act.
 
Remuneration: This is a non-remunerated position, however a Standards Liaison Committee Member will be reimbursed for reasonable expenditure on subsistence, travel etc., as the Council of the Authority determines (Section 17(8) of the ICASA Act No. 13 of 2000 as amended).
 
Disqualification in terms of section 6 of the ICASA Act No. 13 of 2000 (as amended) is applicable: Applicants may not among other things have a direct or indirect financial interest in the electronic communications, broadcasting or postal sectors; be a public servant or the holder of any other remunerated position under the State; be a Member of Parliament, any provincial legislature or any municipal council; be an office bearer or employee of any party, movement or organisation of a party-political nature.
 
Applicants may not among other things - have at any time been convicted, whether in the Republic or elsewhere of theft, fraud, forgery or uttering a forged document, perjury, an offence in terms of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1958 (Act No. 6 of 1958), the Corruption Act, 1992 (Act 94 of 1992), Part 1 to 4, or section 17, 20 or 21 (in so far as it relates to the aforementioned offences) of Chapter 2 of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, 2004, or any other offence involving dishonesty; or has been sentenced, after the commencement of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1993 (Act No. 200 of 1993), to a period of imprisonment of not less than one year without the option of a fine; or has at any time been removed from an office of trust on account of misconduct.
 
Term of Office: Successful candidate will serve as a member of the Standards Liaison Committee for a period of 3 years and will be subject to the SLC Terms of Reference and such other terms and conditions as prescribed by law and the Council of the Authority.
