Introduction
We are looking for a Radio Frequency Specialist - Broadcasting Frequency Co-ordination.
 
Purpose of the job                                                                                               
To conduct technical planning, analysis and processing of broadcasting radio frequency spectrum licence applications and assignments through sound engineering principles.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (i.e., NQF Level 7) and related honours degree (NQF level 8 - e.g. Business Management) as an added advantage
  • Or related honours degree (NQF level 8 – i.e., BSc, BEng ) an added advantage
  • Registration with ECSA as an added advantage
  • 4 – 7 Years professional Experience
  • 6-8 Years working Experience in radio frequency planning and/or design
  • Knowledge of wireless, analogue and digital broadcasting technologies and standards
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic and respective frequencies.

Introduction
We are looking for a Financial Specialist to join the team. 
 
Purpose of the job
Designs; revises and/or implements accounting procedures in accordance with accounting principles/standards and treasury requirements. Conducts surveys to prepare recommendations for improvements; controls; new methods; and other changes to improve the efficiency of accounting systems. Preparation for quarterly and annual financial reports; and annual audits.

Introduction
Invitation to Serve on the Information Technology Review Committee (ITRC) of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa: Three (3) Positions
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is a public entity responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications, broadcasting and postal industries in South Africa, as mandated by the ICASA Act, No 13 of 2000, and Electronic Communications Act, No 36 of 2005. ICASA hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve on its Information Technology Review Committee (ITRC) at its Head Office in Centurion for a period of three (3) years.
ITRC’s role is to ensure that prudent and reasonable steps are taken with regard to Information Technology (IT) Governance of ICASA.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements: 
  • Honours degree or a Post Graduate qualification.
  • In addition to a qualification, prospective candidates must also have certification in IT Governance and demonstrate an understanding of IT controls (audit certification).
  • Candidates should also have CA, CIA or CISA as well as experience in working at executive/board level.
 
Term of Office
Successful candidates will serve as part-time members of the ITRC for a period of three (3) years and will be subject to the ITRC Terms of Reference and such other terms and conditions as prescribed by law and the Council of the Authority.
 
Disqualification in terms of section 6 of the ICASA Act No. 13 of 2000 (as amended) is applicable:
Applicants may not among other things have a direct or indirect financial interest in the electronic communications, broadcasting or postal sectors; be a public servant or the holder of any other remunerated position under the State; be a Member of Parliament, any provincial legislature or any municipal council; be an office bearer or employee of any party, movement or organisation of a party-political nature.

INVITATION TO SERVE ON THE CONSUMER ADVISORY PANEL OF THE INDEPENDENT COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY OF SOUTH AFRICA: NINE (09) POSITIONS
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is a Chapter 9 institution established pursuant to Section 192 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa,1996 (the Constitution) to support and promote democracy in South Africa. ICASA is enjoined in terms of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Act,2000(Act No 13 of 2000) read with the underlying statutes to regulate the electronic communications, broadcasting and postal sectors in the public interest.
ICASA hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve on its Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) at its Head Office in Centurion for a period of three (03) years.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual advisory reports to the Authority on consumer related issues resulting from the usage of electronic communications, broadcasting and postal services which will include:
  • Critical concerns affecting consumers with particular emphasis on persons with disabilities, senior citizens, women, youth, and people living in underserved areas.
 
Provide research on issues affecting consumers and provide a consumer perspective through commentary on relevant Regulations and regulatory projects when published for public comments.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Prospective candidates must be South African citizens, and have five years’ experience in the electronic communications, broadcasting and/or postal services sector.
 
The Authority will also consider appointing representatives from organisations that represent the interests of the following groups:
  • Women
  • Youth
  • Persons with disabilities
  • SMME and/or
  • Community based organisations or non-governmental organisations

 
Disqualification in terms of Regulation 8 of the Consumer Advisory Panel Regulations of 2023 will be applicable:
Applicants may not be appointed as panel members if he or she is not a citizen of the Republic, is not a permanent resident of the Republic, is a member of Parliament, a provincial legislature or municipal council, is an office bearer or employee of a party, movement or organisation of a party political nature, has a spouse or a partner who has a direct or indirect financial interest in the electronic communications, broadcasting or postal services sector, is declared by a court of law as mentally ill or disordered, is an un-rehabilitated insolvent, has been convicted of an offence, after the commencement of the constitution of the Republic of South Africa,1993(Act No.200 of 1993)and sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine or has at any time been removed from an office of trust on account of misconduct.
