JOB TITLE : ANALYST: COST MODELLING

SALARY : Total Annual Package (CTC) – R579,177.00
LOCATION : ICASA (Head Office – Eco Park, Centurion)
POSITION STATUS : Permanent
Purpose of the job
• Conduct research and provide interpretation of regulatory financial interventions imposed in the ICT sector (i.e. telecommunications, postal and broadcasting) to ensure improved social welfare.
• Develop and maintain ICT cost models and regulatory financial accounting systems
• Manage the collection and collation of relevant ICT economic and cost-modelling data.
• Manage required cost modelling databases.
• Provide necessary interpretation of regulatory financial accounts of regulated ICT services.
• Analyse available public information to disseminate and identify the cost of existing ICT services.
• Provide recommendations on developing costing models so as to inform regulatory planning and decision making.
• To assist the Manager in developing a consistent regulatory agenda to promote competition and enhanced economic efficiency of the ICT Sector.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Cost Modelling, and their responsibilities will include: ● Cost Modelling ● Operational Planning ● Departmental Management ● Financial/Accounting Interpretation ● Research and Analysis.
Qualifications and Experience: ● Academic 3-year degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting/Economics/Finance/Business Management or equivalent ● At least 3 years relevant professional or working experience in cost modelling or financial management ● Working knowledge of cost accounting principles and determination of cost of capital (WACC) ● Proven track record of conducting economic research in the ICT sector ● Proven track record of working with qualitative and quantitative methods ● Proven track record on conducting research and drafting research reports ● Proven financial analytical skills ● Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
