HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
5 year fixed-term Employment Contract
[Paterson Grade E2]
Remuneration package: R1, 856, 919.00 per annum (Cost to Council)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- An Honour’s degree in Business /Administration/ Political Sciences/ Law/ Finance.
- 10 years of relevant work experience in regulatory or health environment.
- 5 years of experience in senior management.
- 3 years project management experience.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
- A Master’s degree in Political Science/ Law/ Finance or MBA.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Manages the Office of the Registrar with a focus on planning, administration, logistics, human resources management, financial management, budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
- Developing a clear and logical reporting and communication framework internally and to oversight structures.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners and external partners in the Public and Private Sector.
- Development of Council Strategy.
- Assists the Human Resources Division by collaborating, anticipating, addressing, and resolving employee concerns prior to escalating to Registrar.
- Interrogates business processes by helping to identify and tackle core problems in existing business processes.
- Tracks performance by working with leadership to measure team performance and provide tactical support to implement new ideas.
- Ensures improvement of internal control environment by ensuring internal and external audit findings are timeously addressed.
- Mitigates exposure of the company by assisting with risk assessment of new initiatives and business decisions.

HEAD OF DIVISION: CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Paterson grade D4
Remuneration package: R1, 376, 500 per annum (Cost to Council)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s (NQF L7) degree in Media/ Communications/ Public Relations/ Marketing.
- At least 6 years communication experience, preferably in a media/health related environment.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience of analysis of media reports and complaints.
- 3 - 5 years management or supervisory experience in a Public Relations environment.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Postgraduate degree (NQF L8) in Media Studies/ Corporate Communications/ Branding/ Marketing, and a postgraduate qualification in management.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Development and implementation of an information management strategy.
- Manage media enquiries, including issuing of press releases, responses, facilitation of media interviews and conceptualization and implementation of press conferences.
- Improve and enhance the image of the HPCSA by managing excellent media relations.
- Facilitate the strategic monitoring and evaluation of media coverage and dissemination to key stakeholders.
- Manage media relationships and strategic planning of crisis communications and interviews as well as compilation of reports.
- Facilitate effective production of all communications to board members through newsletters, bulletin magazines, e-zines and through the Annual Report.
- Manage assessment and measurement of the effectiveness of the HPCSA’s communication efforts through customer surveys.
- Advise Council of positive/negative reporting by Media and public perceptions and recommend remedial action.
- Strategically manage the communication aspect of the HPCSA.
- Conduct educational and awareness roadshows.
