TECHNICAL TRAINER CS2301

The position of Technical Trainer is vacant. The Technical Trainer will report directly to the Learning and Development Manager and will be based at Head Office, Pretoria.

The Technical Trainer will be required to support the Learning and Development Manager: through the implementation of the following KPA’s
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Compile and effectively communicate the annual technical training plan and calendar
- Conduct training needs analysis
- Design, develop and implement scheme targeted technical training modules and courses
- Design, develop and implement competency training
- Implement learning methodologies to facilitate learning, including but not limited to: scenario based learning, gamification and e-learning
- Provided targeted technical training
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of training interventions (return on investment)
- Support and contribute to the implementation of the learning and development strategy
- Review and Improve training materials and assessment tools as per SETA requirements
- Be accountable for the annual B-BBEE skills development targets
Qualification requirements are:
- Diploma in related area / field (NQF 6)
- ODET Practitioner. SETA accredited facilitator, assessor and moderator
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent understanding of training systems and processes
- 5 years’ experience in training and learning facilitation
Desirable:
- FAIS Accreditation
- Knowledge of Human Resources management
- Good knowledge of training administration
- Experience in instructional design and development of learning material
- Experience with design tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia and / or Adobe Captivate.
Advantageous:
- Experience in and thorough understanding of medical aid/health care industry
- Experience in facilitating learning processes in the Healthcare / Medical Schemes / Insurance Industry

INTEGRATION SPECIALIST ICT2301

The position of ICT Integration Specialist is vacant. The ICT Integration Specialist will report directly to the Senior Manager: Application Development and forms part of the ICT division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office, Pretoria.

The ICT Integration Specialist will be required to participate in the planning, coordination, and solution development and implementation activities related to the integration of applications and technologies within the organizations application integration environment. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and data structures, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role and providing support to the SM: Applications Development through the following KPA’s:
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Develop and maintain services used in application integrations.
- Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices.
- Work with development teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations.
- Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components.
- Write PL-SQL code to retrieve appropriate data as derived from requirements.
- Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.
- Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison in developing solutions.
- Coordinate directly with business analyst to best understand and analyze application integration business specifications.
- Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
- Assist application software developers and engineers in development of Application Program Interface (APIs) to interact with the application integration environment
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions within the organization’s architectural principles, policies, and guidelines
- Continually develop skills in the integration technologies in place in the AI environment, as well as staying informed on new developments in integration technology.
- Implement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions to provide proactive operational support in the AI environment.
Qualification requirements are:
- National diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information technology, information systems or relevant degree
- Application Integration Certification is must.
- Experience in Application Integration role is a must.
- Full systems development life cycle experience.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in Application Architect.
- Certification in Application Integration is a must.
- Systems Development Lifecycle Management is essential. Project Management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HealthCare Solution is an advantage.
- Competency with XML constructs and schemas.
- Technically fluent in programming languages, including .Net environment/ platform
- Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping
- Confidence and experience with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST

SENIOR MANAGER: STRATEGY OPO2301

The position of Senior Manager: Strategy is vacant. The Senior Manager: Strategy will report directly to the Executive Manager: Office of the Principal Officer and forms part of the Office of the Principal Officer Division of the Scheme based in Pretoria.
The total remuneration package will be market related and is negotiable, based on qualifications and experience.
The Senior Manager: Strategy will be required to support the Executive Manager: Office of the Principal Officer to execute the following functions:
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Facilitate the planning, development, execution, monitoring & evaluation and communication of the GEMS strategy including the annual strategy review process and Annual Performance Plans
- Analyse market dynamics, maintain an overview of emerging trends, constantly remaining alert and forward-thinking about opportunities and risks in the industry impacting the Scheme
- Provide strategic insights, scenario planning, modelling, forecast to drive the Scheme’s competitive intelligence and ensure the Scheme maintains competitive edge and drive sustainable growth
- Act as a key advisor on critical changes in the competitive landscape, global marketplace and external business environment and facilitate strategic dialogue across the Scheme to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to strategy execution
- Ensure that the strategy is cascaded down through continuous engagement and collaboration with Scheme divisions to align divisional strategies, operation plans and projects to the overall Scheme strategic objectives and direction
- Maintain a birds-eye view of ongoing strategic initiatives/programmes to ensure integration and alignment with the Scheme’s strategic direction and objectives
- Ensure suitable metrics and key performance indicators are in place and continuously reviewed to measure performance and progress towards the Scheme’s strategic goals
- Continuous monitoring and reporting of the performance of the Scheme strategy against targets
- Develop, implement and embed an integrated Strategy Management Framework to foster integrated thinking across the Scheme
- Develop and implement integrated, automated processes to manage the flow of documents and information to and from the Office of the PO, focusing on lean operations and efficiencies
- Oversee the implementation of the Office of the PO stakeholder and strategic partnership plan in line with Scheme Stakeholder Management Strategy
- Manage all associated risk elements in line with the Scheme’s risk management methodologies and frameworks
- Participate in various Scheme committees, forums, work-streams, work-group meetings to drive alignment of activities to the Scheme’s strategic objectives
- Oversight of the operational activities of the OPO including effective management of associated projects and initiatives.
Qualification requirements are:
- A degree/or professional qualification in Strategy Management/Business Management/Financial Management/ Clinical Sciences or equivalent at NQF 7
- A post graduate qualification in business would serve as an added advantage
- At least 8 years relevant work experience, 5 of which should be at management level
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in strategic modeling and scenario analysis
- Strong understanding of consultation principles and tools and the ability to apply these effectively
- A good level of Financial and Project Management experience/skills

Qualification requirements are:
- MMed/Fellow of the College of Medicine (MBCHB + plus additional 1 year for fellow) in Public health, or similar
- MBCHB/BPharm plus Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmacology, health policy or any other related field
- Undergraduate degree in health sciences (MBCHB/ Pharmacy) (Mandatory)
- Minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience as well as 1- 2 years of experience within research, health policy, health product development, health technology assessment and principles of evidence- based medicine environment or similar
- Publications in appropriate journals/ conference presentations would be an added advantage
- Knowledge and application of the significant health policies and regulatory framework in South Africa
- Thorough knowledge and application of research methodologies and health technology assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of healthcare financing.
- Ability to effectively communicate research findings verbally, visually, and in writing to different audiences
- Ability to interpret research findings, formulate reports and make recommendations

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

The position of Procurement Specialist is vacant. The Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Senior Manager: Procurement Operations and forms part of the Corporate Services Division. The position is based in Head Office in Pretoria.
The total remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
The Procurement Specialist will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Procurement Operations through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Efficiently and effectively roll out and implement the procurement elements flowing from the GEMS strategy;
- Provide professional, ethical and compliant procurement processes and procurement activities up to and including negotiation and contracting for relevant GEMS stakeholders to achieve value for money and high stakeholder satisfaction;
- To consider, plan and coordinate all procurement related requirements of the Scheme;
- To deliver outcomes and objectives as agreed with the Senior Manager, including those contained within the Work Plan;
- Effectively report on procurement activities against the determined procurement principles;
- Review and submit progress against annual procurement plans bi-weekly to the Senior Manager: Procurement Operations;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements and
- Maintain supplier relationships and assess adherence to contractual conditions and budgetary provisions.
Qualification, skills and competencies requirements are:
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Economics or similar;
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in procurement and particularly in procurement, planning and contracting with at least 3 years of experience at a management level;
- Knowledge of procurement processes and negotiation and contracting;
- Procurement Planning Skills;
- Be organised and have good time management skills;
- Sound planning and project management skills;
- Be analytical and have the ability to manage priorities;
