The position of Healthcare Contracts and Compliance Specialist is vacant. The Healthcare Contracts and Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Healthcare Contracts and Compliance Manager and form part of the Healthcare Management Division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office in Pretoria.
The total remuneration package for this position is between R 1 193 734 per annum dependent of Skills and experience

Duties & Responsibilities
The Healthcare Contracts and Compliance Specialist will be required to provide support to the Contracts and Compliance Manager through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
  • Develop operational reports and manage SLA compliance by contracted managed care service providers.
  • Ensure the review of managed Care people, systems and processes is conducted during quarterly site visits.
  • Evaluate contracts for timeous notice for renewal/termination and sign-off of contracts.
  • Provide support in service provider interpretation sessions, winding down of terminated contracts and take-on sessions of new contracts within HM.
  • Provide support in the end-to-end contracting management process for the Division.
  • Support where required in respect of any provider network contracting in accordance with the approved phased programme.
  • Handle the preparation and dissemination of contract-related correspondence.
  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational work plans of the Division.
  • Track contractual reporting related to approved projects of the division.
  • Support Project management of all contracts within the division to ensure that they comply with GEMS policies.
  • Participate in relevant internal forums, committees and working groups to discuss compliance and risk management when required.
  • Monitor divisional compliance with the legislative requests from various Stakeholders.
  • Ensure scheduling and compilation of divisional Policies and SOPs are up to date and in compliance with Scheme processes.
  • Ensure all contracted Service Providers adhere to BBBEE Sub-contracting requirements.
  • Facilitate the divisional audit and risk register undertakings effectively and timeously.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum requirements are:
  • At least a 3-year Legal Degree or NQF Level 6 qualification in Compliance or risk management or similar
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in the development of contracts, management of compliance, risk and or audit, and presentation of management reports.
  • Experience in the healthcare funding/medical scheme industry/contracting/compliance management environment or related field will be advantageous.
  • Project Management experience will be an added advantage.
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

The position of CRM Developer is vacant. The CRM Developer role will report directly to the Senior Manager: Application Development and forms part of the ICT Division. The position is a permanent position and will be based at GEMS Head Office, Pretoria.
The total remuneration package is Between R 954,930  and R 1,193,734 per annum , based on qualifications and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
The CRM Developer will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Application Development, and is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration, and stabilization of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform. This will be achieved through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Customer Engagement) solutions.
  • Develop and extend solutions using Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps (Model-Driven and Canvas), and Power Automate.
  • Implement custom extensions using C#, .NET, and JavaScript where required.
  • Design and support integrations using APIs and Azure integration services.
  • Perform and support data migration, data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation from the other system.
  • Implement and support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) & DevOps practices across development, test, and production environments.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, including corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Support platform upgrades, patches, and feature releases aligned with Microsoft roadmaps
  • Configure and monitor role-based security, access controls, and auditing.
  • Monitor platform security and collaborate with ICT Security and Infrastructure teams on identity, access management, and compliance controls
  • Prepare, deploy, and support managed Dynamics 365 solutions across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments in line with approved release and change management processes
  • Act as technical lead when working with consultants, including reviewing designs and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and quality assurance oversight
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and support user adoption.
  • Ensure technical documentation and release artefacts are maintained
 
Minimum Requirements
Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum a 3-year Degree, Diploma, or NQF Level 6 Qualification in Information Technology or other relevant qualification
  • Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM development and support.
  • Proven experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
  • Strong experience integrating Dynamics 365 with enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, jQuery, SQL Server, and Web Services.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement certification
  •  Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher – advantageous
 
Skills
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of mobile technologies such as of iOS and Android software development kit.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Specialist: Research (Health Policy) will be required to perform the following functions within the Research and Development Division under the supervision of the Senior Manager: Health Policy:
  • Support the implementation of the Scheme’s Research Strategy through evidence-based research that informs health policy and strategic decisions.
  • Conduct and manage epidemiological and operational research to identify patterns, causes, and risk factors of diseases affecting Scheme members.
  • Lead and execute research projects from conceptualisation to completion, including study design, data analysis, and dissemination of results.
  • Develop and apply qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and ensure rigorous adherence to ethical research principles.
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights and present recommendations to Management, Committees, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including academic and research institutions, to enhance research capacity and quality.
  • Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant conferences and forums (including Universal Healthcare and public sector policy forums).
  • Provide technical support in data interpretation, statistical analysis and the development of research outputs and communication materials.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and research ethics, including POPIA, the National Health Act, and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage research risks and maintain proper documentation and reporting of research projects to ensure transparency and accountability.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualification requirements are
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Health Science discipline such as Public Health, Clinical Epidemiology, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Medical Sciences.
  • A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related health discipline is essential.
  • A PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field will be an added advantage
 
Experience Required
  • 3–5 years of experience within a research environment, preferably in health policy, public health, or epidemiology.
  • Demonstrated experience with data collection, statistical analysis, literature reviews, and publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Proficiency with statistical and analysis software such as STATA, R, EPINFO, MAXQDA, or NVIVO.
  • Proven ability to prepare scientific reports, research protocols, and policy briefs.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex research findings for non‑technical audiences
