Gibela rail invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Repair Controller position. The role reports to the Logistics Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Randjespark, Midrand.
 
Purpose of the job:
  • To manage order process for repairable materials to ensure float is available for Operational requirements.
  • To ensure supplier communication/orderbooks and system data are correctly managed and delivery commitments are met.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within Supply Chain.
  • Experience /understanding of parts repair process.
  • Good knowledge of ERP: SAP.
  • Computer Literate (MS Office).
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Expediting the delivery of repairs from external suppliers ensuring supplier and customer OTIF is achieved.
  • Monitoring and updating SAP records.
  • Maintaining order book accuracy and fulfilment.
  • Coordinating all internal and external logistics activities associated with all overhaul contracts to ensure that customer milestone dates are met.
  • Managing the workload of the service, the “Make or Buy” of validation work packages and validation means.
  • Ensuring materials/services are delivered in-line with business requirements through expediting orders and updating the business system, communicating, and escalating issues.
  • Managing the stock levels of repairable materials ensuring they are kept at an optimum level through monitoring usage, raising orders, expediting and stock controlling.
  • Establishing the priorities for Internal repairs and communicate them with the Repairs planners to the Workshop.
  • Responding to internal customer and internal queries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintaining an accurate ‘base data’ within the computer-based stock control system.
  • Providing full Repair planner support for any identified project activities / requirements.
  • Acting as a champion for warehouse function both internally and externally.
  • Covering other Purchasing Functions (Supply Chain Coordinator, MRP Controller) when required.

  • Support each department in APSYS deployment by providing on field expertise on lean & continuous improvement tools
  • Facilitate and coordinate all improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each métier based on APSYS roadmaps
  • Consolidate and report deployment status to Quality Manager, Managing Director and APSYS Central team
 
APSYS assessment:
  • Is responsible of self-assessment consolidation and APSYS assessment week / support mission’s preparation (logistics / accommodation, agenda, people availability …)

Job Purpose
  • The primary focus of this position is to ensure effective cost management and timely business reporting.
  • The specific emphasis of this role is the analysis of both Production and Non-Production Overheads and their allocations to the projects.

  • Allocate Production Overheads (POH) and Non-Production Overheads (NPOH) to the correct Projects and Cost Centres and ensure timely reporting of KATR in Teranga.
  • Maintaining OH by function controlling ensuring that Central fees schemes application
  • Approve Purchase Requisitions and ensure spending is aligned to Budget and Cash forecasting
  • Responsible for preparing KATR annual operational budget for MSA & TSSSA and the rolling forecast.
  • Prepare and provide in depth analysis of on recovery rates on labor and overhead per cost centre; assist in implementing (Full FI07)
  • Become a business partner to heads of departments (Cost Center Owners) with regards to financial reporting and performance monitoring
  • Solicit Commentary and solutions from Cost Centre Owners on divergences from the budget
  • Become the Cost Saving Initiative Champion for finance, providing business with potential scenarios and analysis
  • Ensure all internal control are implemented and complied with in the area of responsibility

ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES
Key accountabilities:
  • Apply Industrial Planning Golden rules.
  • Use Kinaxis MPS for all scheduling activities for firm and forecast projects, (not mandatory for other tenders) (RS sites)
 
For opportunities and tenders:
  • Build the industrial planning in coherency with inputs from tender team and site management.
  • Analyse the bottlenecks (site capacity) at least quarterly.
  • Give data according to Global Planning and S&OP process taking in account PIO and Site Strategic Plan
 
For firm projects:
  • Get the commitment on the hypothesis taken from all stakeholders
  • Build the industrial planning taking into account availability of Material, Men, Machine (3M approach)
  • Identify the bottlenecks as well as and all other possible risks on the industrial planning, alert Industrial Planning manager and the PrPMs of the projects involved each time a new one is identified, propose scenario to secure them
  • Daily monitoring of industrial planning and meeting with industrial teams (Manuf / Testing / SC )
  • Update industrial planning into the ERP system each time there is a change validated by all stakeholders
  • Guarantee that the data inside the ERP are the latest update.
  • Participate to the P&FM process by doing the appropriate simulations to support decisions to be taken.
  • Evaluate impacts of decisions on the MPS, by doing simulations. Then when decisions are validated to do some short term changes, be sure it is updated in the MPS and in the ERP system as well.
  • In case of major change, prepare communication pack for SCM and Sourcing (to be send to Internal and external suppliers)
  • Analyze the root causes of delay of the industrial planning and their impact, including impact on other projects (multi project line).
  • Update weekly the actual dates and communicate internally on the MPS status through a cockpit (tables, graphs,…)
  • Update KPIs MPS Accuracy and UoT and communicate them
  • Calculate manufacturing workload inside the planning tool, identify the resources needed and share results for monthly meeting

Gibela Rail Transport Consortium invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Field Modification Operator position to be based in Wolmerton, Pretoria North. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Field Modification Team Leader.
 
Job Purpose
 
The purpose of the role is to apply modifications in manufactured Rolling Stock units already delivered by factory following the Field Modification Instruction (FMI) documents and complying with Gibela industrial and quality process. 
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or N3 Certificate.
  • Trade Tested - Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Industrial and technical background with 2 to 5 years’ experience preferably from working in a railway or similar industry.
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems. 
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of modifications in Rolling Stock units according to the modification file, in line with Company procedures especially in relation to Industrial and Quality.
  • Undertake reworks, retrofits, repairs and/or other kinds of works to perform outside manufacturing facility as specified by the Manager according to Organization Chart.
  • Carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.
  • Ensure all correct tools are available prior the works, validity and certification of relevant tools.
  • Ensure all correct materials, components and parts prior the works are available.
  • Populate relevant modification follow-up data base.
  • Guarantee information flow within the field modification team.
  • Perform quality self-control.
  • Write a clear and detailed report on the work done (Job card).
  • Drive company vehicles when required and applicable.
  • Attend regular team briefings.
  • Read reports and manuals as and when required.
