GROUP EXECUTIVE: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
(FIVE YEARS FIXED-TERM CONTRACT WITH THREE MONTHS’ PROBATION, GRADE E5, SALARY PACKAGE NEGOTIABLE TOTAL COST OF EMPLOYMENT PER ANNUM)
The Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) is the implementation arm of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, created in terms of the Blue IQ Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd Amended Act (2012) merging Blue IQ Investment Holdings and the Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA). The GGDA is a group of companies made up of a Holding company and four subsidiaries i.e.
Automotive Supply Park t/a Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC)
The Innovation Hub (TIH)
Constitution Hill (ConHill)
Gauteng Industrial Development Zone (GIDZ)
The mandate thereof, is to lead, facilitate and manage sustainable job creation and inclusive economic growth and development in the Gauteng City Region through:
Enabling economic development that is focused on creating sustainable jobs by facilitating delivery of key national and provincial programmes of action.
Strategically positioning the province into a globally competitive city region.
Facilitating partnerships and creating linkages across the province to maximise service delivery outcomes.
Supporting the development of Key Sectors of the economy in line with the economic development and industrial strategies of the province by carrying out:
The successful incumbent will be reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO); he/she will be expected to amongst others execute the following tasks:
Develop and implement the Group Communications and Marketing Strategy to guide the marketing, communications activities and programmes within GGDA Group of Companies.
Without outsourcing the responsibility, develop and draft media, marketing and communication strategies for GGDA.
Develops, executes, reviews and report on divisional strategy and operational plan aligned to the Group Corporate Strategy.
Lead and manage the division in line with the approved policies, applicable laws and the delegated authority by facilitate resource availability for operational effectiveness.
Provide regular report to the Group EXCO, MANCO and other structures on the operations and activities of the Organization in relation to the implementation of the Group Communications and Marketing Strategy.
Identify the principal risks and implement appropriate systems to manage these risks.
Oversee the marketing of the Group to enhance the brand and profile of Organisation, as well as the programmes and services.
Work with the communications and marketing teams across the subsidiaries of the GGDA to ensure consistent messaging and integrated programming of collateral and other marketing related activities.
Work with external government agencies and departments to ensure alignment of activities and also economies of scale principles are applied where possible.
Collaborate with TIRE to develop and implement the investment destination marketing strategy for the Group
Supporting the GCEO on external communication to communicate the GGDA programmes, services and activities.
Working together with other Executives to consolidate and draft the GGDA annual report.
Oversee media monitoring and establish relations with media to ensure positive reporting of GGDA.
Foster a high-performance corporate culture within Division that promotes ethical practices and encourages individual integrity, accountability, and social responsibility.

AS MINIMUM APPLICANTS, SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
Post Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications;
5 - 10 years’ experience in Strategic senior and Executive Management Level and within the Marketing or Public Relations or Communications environment.
Good working knowledge of strategic promotions, marketing, communications and public relations.
Good knowledge of media liaison relations.
Good working knowledge of project and programme management.
Good working knowledge of strategy and operational planning.
LEVEL OF COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Excellent lobbying skills and ability to communicate across the various levels of government.
Ability to establish and maintain sustainable relationships.
Detailed knowledge of socio-economic aspects relating to the Gauteng Province.
Detailed knowledge of developments in the global economy.
Detailed knowledge of national and provincial government priorities and frameworks.
