DIRECTOR: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT REF NO: REFS/008265 
SALARY : R1 057 326 per annum (All-inclusive Package) 
CENTRE : Johannesburg 
 
REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12 and an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics or related/ relevant field. Advance Diploma with the relevant SCM Experience at MMS Level. Supply Chain Management experience with 5 years’ experience at a middle/senior managerial level. Possession of SMS Pre-entry Certificate. The successful completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme as endorsed by the National School of Government available as an online course on www.thensg.gov. Extensive experience in government Supply Chain Management procedures. Extensive experience in working with relevant Treasury. Knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation and regulation and ensure the following items: Demand Management, Acquisition Management, Logistics Management and Disposal Management, Supply Chain Manual, Annual Financial Statement guidelines (SAP/SRM/BAUD and Pastel, Public Service including the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act 1 of 1999), Treasury Regulations, the Public Act 1994 (Act 103 of 1994), the Labour Relations Act 1995 (Act 66 of 1995). Proper understanding of Government Tender Regulations and processes. Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ethical behaviour. Good planning and organising skills. Knowledge and understanding of Government reporting requirements. Knowledge and understanding of sector Strategic Management Frameworks. Ability to work independently and under pressure. DUTIES : Manage the administrative processes of acquisition both at the level of Bid Committees and transactional. Develop an appropriate acquisition strategies that will ensure timeous procurement of goods and services. Ensure that the risk profile of the Department in so far as Supply Chain Management is concerned is adequately managed. Develop system of internal controls that will minimise the occurrence of fraud and corruption. Provide direction and leadership to the Directorate. Ensure strategic alignment between the programmes. This implies having a good understanding of the environment within which the Directorate operates and aspects underlying the work and being able to think analytic and make strategic decisions about work.
