JOB IDENTIFICATION

Reporting Line: Human Resources Manager
Full-time/Part-time/Contract: Permanent
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure positive climate in the organisation where labour peace is optimised, conflict is managed effectively, and organisational objectives are maximised as well as other areas in Employee Relations.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
▪ Ensure proper application of Employee, Relations, Policies and procedures, through liaison with employees and Management.
▪ Create awareness of and support for Employee Relations practices and programmes to Management and Employees through training.
▪ Update Management on Employee Relations trends and requirements.
▪ Monitor adherence to agreed minimum conditions of employment at Fasset.
▪ Ensure adherence to disciplinary procedures as well as substantive and procedural fairness.
▪ Presentation of cases at the Bargaining Council, CCMA and Labour Court
▪ Advise management on cases to be referred to the Labour Court.
▪ Lead and facilitate negotiations with organised labour
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Qualification
• Bachelor of Law, LLB Degree or equivalent legal qualification
• 10 years' experience in Labour Relations/IR experience in the public sector environment advantageous
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Essential:
▪ 10 years relevant experience in Labour Relations
▪ Experience in the public sector environment advantageous
▪ Strong understanding of Labour Relations Acts, Prescripts and Regulations
▪ Strong and in-depth experience in CCMA & Bargaining Council
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AND WORK OUTPUT
Critical
▪ Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance environment including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, LRA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, the Skills Development Levies Act,
▪ Good people skills – relating, networking, adapting, coping
▪ Negotiation and leadership skills
▪ Minimum three years’ administrative experience
▪ An understanding of the public sector environment is highly desirable
▪ Excellent communication, Writing and reporting
▪ Organising and Executing
▪ Attention to detail
▪ Gathering, presenting and communicating information
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Essential
▪ Solid computer skills: MS Office Suite
▪ Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
▪ Administration ability.
▪ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
▪ Good relationship with stakeholders and an energetic approach to work.
▪ Detail and process orientated.
▪ Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication.
▪ Report writing and presentation skills
▪ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
