PURPOSE: To manage strategic projects from the accounting aspect of the organisation.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
•A 3-year Degree in Commerce
•Financial Management qualification
•5 Year’s relevant experience.
•Advanced knowledge of Accounting Software Packages such as Pastel, SAGE X3

KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with the management of liabilities by ensuring strategic projects are funded
• Contribute towards the planning and monitoring of the FP&M SETA strategic project budgets by carrying out tasks such as:
  • the development of the strategic projects budget,
  • capturing and verification of information before processing of invoices, posting and allocation of expenses into the correct accounts in line with the budget,
  • compilation of the discretionary portion of the monthly management reports highlighting expenditure patterns in line with indicators of APP.
• Assist the CFO in determining the cash needs of the organization for spending on strategic projects
• Ensure that invoices are paid within 7 days of receipt
• Supply information to the CFO regarding the expenditure patterns and funds available for the various funding windows and attend to all internal queries.
• Liaise with the CFO on expenditure and management of strategic project funds.
• Ensure that project administration expenses the total value of the projects and that the budget is not exceeded.
• Assist with the development and review of financial policies and procedures in line with the PFMA and treasury regulations and any other applicable legislation for projects and discretionary grants
• Assist the CFO in compiling the performance section of the Annual report.
• Implement and maintain internal financial control and procedures
• Comply with all applicable legislations, regulations, policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the CFO in preparation of the schedule of the financial quarterly reports.
• Assist with preparation for annual audits.
• Identify and mitigate financial and assets risks
• Keep accurate up to date financial records on the MIS system
• Ensure that accurate records are maintained for strategic projects expenses
• Ensure all strategic projects payments are supported by adequate documentation.
• Assist with ad-hoc queries as they arise
• Liaise with the HR division in conducting performance appraisals and ensure competency and training gaps are addressed

PURPOSE:
Responsible for supporting the CEO in making decisions as well as managing and completing high level projects (for example: projects related to strategic directives, high-level stakeholder management, process implementation, staffing assignments, strategic events) and among others, making sure the organization as a whole deliver against deadlines ensuring the highest quality of work is delivered.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
• Bachelor Accounting, B. Com with Project Management qualification
• Strong Financial & Project Management knowledge & Expertise
• Min 8 - 10 years’ work experience in a similar field
• Relevant experience in the Fibre processing and manufacturing sub-sectors would be advantageous
• Above-average understanding of Government’s skills development initiatives and the mandate assigned to SETAs
• The ability to influence policy and engage with diverse stakeholders at the highest level
• Sound knowledge of the PFMA, SDLA, NSDS, SAQA Act and other relevant legislation.
• Must be a high achiever.

KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Make sure that strategic projects and policies are followed up and completed in a timely manner ensuring high quality delivery;
• Oversees and follows-up with staff on the timely and quality execution of planned activities related to strategic projects and decisions taken by the CEO and Senior Management;
• Reviews and comments on materials and documents related to the execution of high profile strategic projects and programs being presented to the CEO and Senior Management thus ensuring accuracy and quality;
• Research development & innovation;
• Research (baseline & impact);
• Analysing data;

• Assists in developing partnerships and collaborative arrangements with other research organizations;
• Management of special projects and initiatives, as required;
• Ensure the SETA participation in strategic engagement programmes;

• Leveraging of SETA/stakeholder communication and marketing opportunities
• Responsible for strategic direction and execution of internal and external communications
• Ensure smooth processes to drive cross team collaborations;
• Assist with Strategic Planning and drafting of strategic documents and presentations;
• Tracking and tracing of complaint enquiries and ensuring that effective successful resolution of client/stakeholders queries;
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations as required by the Executive Management;
• Organise high level stakeholder engagement; and
• Other high-level activities and special projects as required
• Manage and coordinates strategic visits making sure they are properly guided, introduced and welcomed;
• Maintain accurate and up to date contact database and proper filing of project documents and communications;
• Carry out research and relevant studies on specific topics related to business, policy and others as required and prepare reports on findings
