ABOUT THE POSITION
The successful candidate must provide a secure and stable infrastructure capacity where they will manage support staff and service desk while maintaining relationships with vendors and service providers. The candidate must be able to oversee the servicing of computer systems and software and ensure maintenance thereof:
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
IT strategy, plans and budget
  • As a member of the Group IT Management Team and IT SteerCo, participates in the formulation of Group IT strategy and annual plans
  • Conducts IT services research, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies; and motivates IT Services Section budgetary requirements to IT Management Team
Infrastructure
  • Liaises with business unit/regional managements to clarify business requirements and estimate the WAN, LAN, storage, computer hardware, software, and connection infrastructure resources
  • Develops capacity/resource plans that cover current use, estimated future needs, and cost estimates for the support of new applications/enhancements (Input to budgeting process)
  • Builds, communicates, explains, and motivates annual infrastructure growth plan
  • Ensures application of sound infrastructure/network management principles
  • Determines and designs security infrastructure and policies; deploys security technologies/features; arranges and manages periodic upgrading of security software; and continually monitors the security situation
User support
  • Implements documented call logging procedure and provides required training in its application
  • Monitors desktop support provided to users by Famous Brands staff, providing correction/mentoring/etc. as required
  • Monitors Dimension Data Service Desk activities against SLA and initiates enhancements / corrective actions as required
Vendor management
  • Sources and evaluates technology/equipment suppliers negotiates SLAs, guarantees and loan units etc.; and monitors compliance through monthly meetings and reports
  • Negotiates quotes, prices, SLAs, guarantees and loan equipment arrangements etc
  • Manages vendor compliance against SLAs through regular meetings and daily reports
  • Convenes CAB and Technical Forum meetings with external resources / vendors to review changes and agree forward action plans
System monitoring
  • Review reports on system up-time, speed, etc
  • Makes changes as required to line capacity/connections/etc. to enhance system performance
Documentation
  • Develops policies, SOPs and procedure guides for maintenance and changes (e.g., creating users; 3rd party connections; password changes; etc.) and ensures compliance
Disaster recovery
  • Develops plans to incorporate systems into disaster recovery process Staff Management
  • Monitors the workload of staff members to ensure fair and equitable distribution of work
  • Monitors staff productivity and quality of work, identifying areas of possible improvement for discussion individually with them
  • Sets continuous improvement goals and monitors performance against these
  • Ensures that staff receive appropriate technical (and other) training, and development opportunities
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • NQF Level 7 with 8 to 10 years in IT services/infrastructure/networks with staff management experience
  • B Degree (Business management / computer science) or equivalent with relevant IT technical training

  • Identify in-store training needs and implement on the job training interventions and coaching
  • Assist franchisees in selecting and formulating locality marketing strategies in order to increase brand awareness and grow their business turnovers
  • Ensure implementation of national marketing campaigns
  • Enforce correct use of all supporting elements i.e. point of sale, premiums etc
  • Act as brand custodian and ensure brand integrity is protected at all times via adherence to all requirements across key functions namely, Operations, Development, HR and Marketing
 
Education and Experience
  • Completed Matric / Grade 12
  • Added advantage: Qualification in food service
  • Minimum 5 years franchising experience in similar role
