The KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Board, trading as Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, is a PFMA Schedule 3C public entity established in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act (Act No. 9 of 1997).
THE ENTITY
The entity is responsible for the management of nature conservation within the Province of KwaZulu-Natal including protected areas as well as development and promotion of ecotourism and facilities within the protected areas. Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife wishes to appoint a suitable candidate into the position of Senior Marketing Manager to be based at Queen Elizabeth Park, Pietermaritzburg.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The position reports to the Managing Executive: Commercial Services and is mainly responsible for formulation and implementation of an effective ecotourism marketing and sales strategy for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Among other the incumbent will be responsible for the management of the Central Reservation, Travel Trade, Loyalty Programmes, Customer Relations, and handling key accounts towards the achievement of the organisation’s operational objectives and targets, therefore.
QUALIFICATION
EXPERIENCE
At least eight (8) year experience in the Marketing and Sales at managerial level, preferably in the ecotourism sector.

QUALIFICATION
- National Diploma in Marketing (NQF Level 7) or equivalent.
- Honors Degree in Marketing and Advertising is preferable. Thus, will be an added advantage.
- Drivers’ license, as recognised by the Republic of South Africa.
EXPERIENCE
At least eight (8) year experience in the Marketing and Sales at managerial level, preferably in the ecotourism sector.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREARS
- Development and implementation of a marketing and sales strategy, including associated strategic initiatives.
- Development and implementation of Policies and Standard Operating Procedure (SoP).
- Development and implementation Stakeholder Management Strategy.
- Management and control identified and emerging operation risks.
- Management of resource (including by not limited to operation and capital budget).
- Management of Human Capital, including talent management (i.e., Management and coaching of diverse team).
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED.
Understanding and application of the following:
- Corporate governance and organisational protocols, particularly in the public sector.
- Environmental legislative and regulatory issues, including regulatory and legislative framework in the South African public sector.
- Social, cultural, and economic issues relating to communities adjoining protected areas in South Africa.
- Marketing principles and methodologies.
- Research methodologies.
