ENTERPRISE RISK SPECIALIST

Introduction
The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is a statutory body charged with the mandate to regulate the engineering profession in accordance with the Engineering Profession Act 46 of 2000.
Position Summary: The Enterprise Risk Specialist position has become available. The position will be responsible for ensuring sound operations, risk management and mitigation, governance and compliance within the organisation by directing the implementation, maintenance, and management of strategic and business risks; to maximise organisation performance which will in turn result in satisfied stakeholders, including customers. The position will report to the Enterprise Risk Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework that integrates risk management with the ECSA’s strategic objectives.
- Effectively implement strategies developed to entrench a risk management culture in the organisation.
- Assist in assessing and maintaining the risk maturity profile of the organisation.
- Conduct research on regulatory updates, trends, and best practices.
- Assist with the identification, communication, monitoring, measurement, and management of companywide risks.
- Track risk-based ISO internal systems audit schedule, open issues and action plans.
- Assist to develop, maintain, and implement business continuity plan and disaster recovery strategies for the organisation.
- Assist to develop contingency plans to deal with organisational emergencies.
- Conduct business impact analysis for all functions of ECSA.
- Plan, conduct, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies.
- Review the Fraud Management Policy, Whistle Blowing process and Fraud Prevention Plan.
- Monitor the implementation of the Fraud Prevention Plan.
- Facilitate the fraud risk assessment review and monitor the implementation of action plans.
- Conduct fraud and corruption awareness sessions.
- Investigate allegations of fraud and corruption.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Diploma or bachelor’s degree (NQF6/7) in Risk Management / Auditing/ Accounting as recognised by SAQA.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Risk, Fraud, and Business Continuity Management, 2 years at supervisory level
- CRM Practitioner will be an added advantage.
- Thorough understanding of the King IV, COSO Framework and ISO 31000 & 22301.
- Knowledge of Risk Management process design, development, implementation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Risk Based auditing.
- Advanced verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

The position will be responsible for ensuring sound operations, risk management and mitigation, governance and compliance within the organisation by directing the implementation, maintenance, and management of strategic and business risks; to maximise organisation performance which will in turn result in satisfied stakeholders, including customers. The position will report to the Enterprise Risk Specialist.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor implementation of the Risk Management Framework that integrates risk management with the ECSA’s strategic objectives.
- Effectively implement strategies developed to entrench a risk management culture in the organisation.
- Assist in assessing and maintaining the risk maturity profile of the organisation.
- Assist with the identification, communication, monitoring, measurement, and management of companywide risks.
- Assist with compilation of risk reports.
- Provide inputs in the development of Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Strategies for the organisation.
- Provide inputs in the development of the Contingency Plan to deal with organisational emergencies.
- Assist in facilitating the fraud risk assessments.
- Capture and update the Allegations Register.
- Conduct fraud and corruption awareness sessions
- Coordinate office activities and operations to ensure efficiency and compliance to company policies.
- Track stock of office supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Take minutes during meetings and update the resolution register.
- Submit timely reports and prepare presentation as assigned.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Diploma or bachelor’s degree (NQF6/7) in Risk Management / Auditing/ Accounting as recognised by SAQA.
