INTERNAL AUDITOR
SALARY: R257508-R303339 PER ANNUM (SL 7) CENTRAL OFFICE
REF NO: EHL 70/2019 

 
 
 
JOB PURPOSE 
Execute internal audit assurance and consultancy engagements to support the implementation of the approved Internal Audit Operational Plan, providing assurance on governance, risk management and control processes in accordance with IIA Standards and legislative framework. 
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
Recognized National Diploma in Internal Audit (NQF Level 6) or equivalent qualification. 1-3 years’ experience in an audit environment. Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa/Global (IIASA) will be an advantage. Knowledge and exposure to Public Service policies and procedures. In-depth knowledge and skills in internal auditing and risk management. Good communication (verbal and written). Computer Skills (Ms Office Advance). Good Presentation Skills. A team player. A valid driver’s license. 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Planning of audit engagements

Conducting of audits as outlined in the internal audit plan in all major college section (Academic, Finance, Corporate Section and Office of the Principal). 
Conducting of Ad Hoch Investigation as requested. Identify and priorities business and relevant control measures. Document system description of business unit under review. Develop audit procedures. Develop audit programs for activities under review 

Execution of audit engagements 
Gather information to support audit findings. Perform procedures and outlined in the audit program. Verify responses of management to issues raised. Evaluate existing controls of the organization. Report audit finding raised to the Internal Audit Manager. Compile draft reports for discuss with management. Convene exit meetings to discuss Final Audit reports with all stakeholders. Develop audit action plan to address internal and external audit findings. Report to the Internal Audit Manager all cases of fraud identified 
 
Reporting of audit engagement 
Discussing issues identified with Management. Compiling a draft report to Management. Issuing a Final report including management comments to Management. Making appropriate recommendations in the Final report for improvement. Monitoring progress on implementation of internal audit findings 
 
Office Administration and Coordination of Audit meetings 
Coordinating and arranging of all audit meetings quarterly and through special request. Filling of all internal audit. Secretariat duties in audit committee meetings. Development of audit committee packs. Writing minutes in audit meeting. Perform follow up audits on all internal and external audit reports. Maintain a data of all audit reports issued. Ensure that audit are conducted in accordance with the IIA standards. Perform Ad Hoch assignments were requested by Management. Perform other duties as requested by the Internal Audit Manager.
