TOURISM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (x 2)

Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Tourism Development Manager, the Tourism Development Officer will be responsible for execution of selected development strategies that target tourism development opportunities in the region.

TOURISM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (x 2)

Purpose

Requirements
- Minimum 3-year tertiary qualification in Tourism Management or Hospitality Management or equivalent relevant qualification plus 3 (three) years’ relevant experience.
- A valid (Code B) Driver’s Licence
- Computer Literacy – Ability to work on Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel, spreadsheet, Output etc.
- Communication Skills (Written and Spoken)
Key Performance Areas
- Tourism Product Development: Identify and Support tourism related projects (in and outside the reserves).
- Tourism research and knowledge: Conduct tourism awareness and career guidance sessions in conjunction with other departments.
- Stakeholder Involvement: Assist with long term program planning and development by identifying tourism industry development requirements, establishing provincial priorities, and making recommendations in meetings the needs of the industry.
- Administrative Support: Provide administration support for the Regional Tourism Development Manager.

PROCUREMENT OFFICER – 3 YEAR FIXED TERM
CENTRE : HEAD OFFICE
BAND : C LOWER
Purpose
Reporting to the Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Officer will provide and oversee the overall administration of the acquisition or procurement of goods and services for the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency.
Requirements
• A minimum B.Degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance or relevant equivalent
qualification
• 3 (three) year’s related experience in a similar position.
• Valid driver’s license.
Key Performance Areas
• Supply Chain Management: Monitor and review the whole SCM processes/components to
ensure adherence to all regulations and policies.
• Bid Administration: Compare the procurement of goods and services against the
procurement plan. Prepare tender adverts and documents.
• Contract Management: Ensure that contracts are in compliance with the law.
• Risk Management: Follow up on SCM risks included in the risk register.
• Corporate Governance: Ensure that audit findings are reduced year to year.

BUSINESS EVENTS AND PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER
CENTRE : HEAD OFFICE
BAND : C LOWER
Purpose
To provide support to general events and marketing activities. Furthermore, to promote the ECPTA
and Province through events.
Requirements
• A three-year tertiary qualification in Events Management.
• Minimum of 2 (two) years relevant experience in Events Management.
• Code EB driving license
• Good communications skill will be advantageous.
Key Performance Areas
• Events partnership support: Provide secretariat function to Bid Committees and assist
with the facilitation of bid communication.
• Events, conference and exhibition support: Assist with the development and
maintenance of the provincial events and calendar.
• Database Management support: Assist with the development and maintenance of a
database spreadsheet of Provincial Conference Organisers (POC’s) and events planner.
• Administration and Reporting: Provide input into events report. Collect evidence which
needs to be submitted that reflects that targets for the quarter have been met.
