RESERVE MANAGER (DWESA-CWEBE NATURE RESERVE)

Level: C-UPPER
 
Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Reserve Manager will be responsible to manage the biodiversity, heritage, protection, and infrastructure of the reserve through goal orientated management that is aligned with the conservation and tourism objectives of the protected area.
 
 
Requirements
  • Three-year tertiary qualification in Nature Conservation / Environmental Management or equivalent plus 5 (five) years’ experience in a relevant supervisory position.
  • Firearm Competency Certificate and EMI Level 2 is required
  • A valid Driver’s License and Police Clearance
  •  Experience in the Marine Protected Areas field will be an added advantage.
 
Key Performance Areas
  • Financial Management: Provide input and manage in accordance of the Budget
  • People Management: Ensure that performance of subordinate staff is managed
  • Infrastructure / Asset Management: Ensure compliance with all Asset Management Policies of ECPTA
  • Biodiversity and Heritage Management: Stay up to date with latest improvements and legislation
  • Law Enforcement: Identify thresholds of potential concern and develop mitigation methods
  • Tourism Hospitality: Develop and implement a Tourism Development Plan
  • Stakeholder management: Develop liaison Forums to discuss management issues
  • Implementation of Strategic Management plans: Review, update and implement the Strategic Management Plan
