The Eastern Cape Department of Health in conjunction with the Faculty of Health Sciences of Walter Sisulu University (WSU) hereby invites applications from qualified Medical Practitioners who meet the following criteria to apply for Registrar posts.

POSTS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING DISCIPLINES:
SALARY: R821 205 per annum (OSD). Applicants might be required to enter into a commuted overtime contract)
NB: Rural Allowance is payable to Mthatha and Fort England Registrars only.
REQUIREMENTS: MBCHB degree qualification that allow full registration with HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner. Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. At least more than 2- years post community service experience. Valid driver’s license. South African citizen. Knowledge and skills. Additional qualifications e.g Primaries, certificates or Diplomas relevant to the field, ACLS, ATLS, APLS, BSS etc. Reasonable proficiency in speaking local language and evidence of a long term commitment to the Eastern Cape will add weight to an application.
DUTIES: Service delivery to inpatients, outpatients, day patients and emergencies. Teaching and training. Conduct research. Must perform commuted overtime and Medical administration. Perform outreach.
A valid work permit (if not South African resident). Priority will be given to applicants interested in specialties prioritized by the ECDoH in terms of its service imperatives. Appointment of Registrars will be for a contract period of 4 years or 5 depending on the minimum requirements of the post).
