Complex, which includes the International Convention Centre Durban (ICC), the ICC Exhibition Centre and the ICC Arena. The Durban ICC is one of the most advanced conference facilities in the world, having been voted Africa’s Leading Conference Centre by World Travel Awards for 18 years. 
 
ASSISTANT BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST (TG 10) 
TWELVE MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT 
MIN R25 424.04 – MAX R42 231.16 PER MONTH

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Business Systems Analyst. The Assistant Business Systems Analyst will be required to provide support to the Business Systems Analyst in ensuring that the business systems of the Durban ICC function according to the required standard and are utilised to their fullest capacity.
The incumbent will report to the Business Systems Analyst. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 
Minimum Qualifications 
 Certified Qlikview Design and Developer 
 Experience working with sql databases and ERP Systems 
 Experience with Report Writing 
 Experience working with point of sale systems 
 Minimum of two (2) to three (03) years’ experience working within a financial environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 
 Provide user support with ERP systems and Qlikview to Durban ICC users; 
 Provide accurate reporting throughout the company with the use of ERP system software; 
 Work with the Business Systems Analyst to ensure that report writing on Crystal and SQL reporting services is maintained; 
 Provide weekly/monthly check ups to ensure that point of sales transactions software system is properly maintained; 
 Work with the Business Systems Analyst to ensure that master inventory is properly maintained; 
 Work closely with management team and users to prioritise business goals and information needs; 
 Ensure assignments and activities of the business systems team are managed and up to date; 
 Develop qlikview reports including data extraction from various systems; 
 Update menus and pricing on financial systems; 
 Train users on various business systems.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS EXECUTIVE (TG 16)

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Marketing and Communications Executive.
The Marketing and Communications Executive will be responsible for mapping out plans and compiling the strategic framework encapsulating key marketing interventions, managing performance levels and client relationships of Durban ICC whilst identifying new opportunities and monitoring success of the brand.
The incumbent will report to the Chief Operations Officer.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications
 Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communication
 Honours Degree in Marketing and Communications would be advantageous
 Minimum of five (05) to ten (10) years’ experience in the related field
 Five (05) of these years’ should be at Management level.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE
 Ensure management of strategic and operational plans of the Marketing and Communications unit are in place;
 Maximise economic development and job creation by attracting and securing national and international events to benefits the city of Durban and South Africa at large;
 Ensure that Durban ICC’s contribution is maximized towards the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP);
 Maintain Durban ICC’s financial sustainability by implementing the Marketing and Communications strategy to maximise revenue against set annual target;
 Conduct research and evaluate current market trends and concepts associated with the conferencing industry;
 Identify new opportunities for the development of partnerships and evaluate reports on current practices, and feasibility to sustain partnerships;
 Develop and implement policies, business processes and standard operating procedures for the business unit;
 Manage the department’s expenditure within the allocated budget;
 Map out short to medium term plans for the department in conjunction with the Sales business unit;
 Ensure occupancy levels are optimised for Durban ICC, Arena and Exhibition Centre;
 Oversee the national and international schedule to maintain the travel expenditure within the approved budget;
 Draft editorial content for industry publications;
 Draft and distribute press releases as required;
 Represent Durban ICC at various national and international trade shows;
 Identify critical alliances for new business opportunities;
 Develop strong relationships with media to secure positive editorial opportunities for Durban ICC;
 Manage Durban ICC’s Environmental, Social and Governance programmes and liaise with beneficiaries and requestors of support;
 Prepare quarterly and annual reports for the Board and other stakeholders pertaining to social, environmental, and governance activities;
 Evaluate and authorize the appropriate use of ICC’s trademarks, brands, sub brands, logos and slogans on all printed and digital collateral;
 Act as Durban ICC’s spokesperson to provide accurate and informative content via media interviews.
