Durban ICC SOC (Ltd) is the managing company for the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC Complex, which includes the International Convention Centre Durban (ICC), the ICC Exhibition Centre and the ICC Arena. The Durban ICC is one of the most advanced conference facilities in the world, having been voted Africa’s Leading Conference Centre by World Travel Awards for 18 years. 
 


​SECURITY RISK MANAGER (TG 14) 

MIN: R638 803.87 – MAX R1 048 341.70 PER ANNUM (TOTAL COST TO COMPANY) 
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL 
 
The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Security Risk Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organisation’s security and risk management strategies to ensure the safety of employees, assets, information, and facility through proactive risk assessment, incident management, and compliance with relevant legislation and standards. The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Corporate Services Officer. 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 
 Matric (Grade 12) 
 Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Security Management / Criminology / Police Services or relevant NQF level 7 qualification 
 PSIRA registration 
 SAMTRAC certification is advantageous 
 ISO 31000 Risk Management certification is advantageous 
 Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in the relevant field 
 3 years of the above experience should be at supervisory level

 Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Ms Excel, MS Excel and MS Outlook) 
 Experience with the JD Edwards system would be an added advantage

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 
 Manage the implementation of the sub-unit’s strategic and operational plans. 
 Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures. 
 Manage physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. 
 Manage, oversee and co-ordinate security directly with appointed security company and Site Manager in line with SLA and venue requirements. 
 Oversee investigations process of lost/stolen/damaged goods or other incidents in Durban ICC and DEC. 
 Liaise with law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other relevant stakeholders. 
 Represent Durban ICC at all high-level security and safety meetings for high profile events with internal and external stakeholders (crime intelligence, state security, VIP protection, disaster management etc). 
 Co-ordinate weekly Events Safety Planning Meetings with relevant City representatives to discuss safety and security for upcoming events on the calendar. 
 Ensure compliance with applicable security and occupational health and safety legislation. 
 Ensure ISO compliance is maintained. 
 Conducting appraisals to measure performance against agreed objectives, counselling and consulting with personnel on developmental goals, career paths and short-term targets and standards. 
 Define and adjust the role boundaries, workflow process and job designs against established service delivery requirements and statutory regulations. 
 Develop business continuity and emergency response plans. 
 Prepare and present regular reports to MANCO and EXCO on security and risk-related matters. 
 Develop and maintain an enterprise risk management framework tailored to hospitality operations. 
 Manage human resources of the business unit. i.e. performance management, talent management raining and development, discipline and grievance handling etc.
