​INVITATION TO SERVE AS MEMBERS (TWO POSTS) OF THE AUDIT COMMITTEE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS, SOUTH AFRICA. 

• Ref No: HRMC 21/24/1 
• Centre: Head Office, Pretoria • Remuneration: Members will be paid in accordance with the tariffs as determined by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in consultation with the Auditor-General 
• Duration: Three (3) year contract. 
 
In terms of section 76 (4) and 77 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) read with chapter 3 of Treasury Regulations, applications are invited from the interested independent and suitably qualified persons to serve on the Department of Home Affairs’ Audit Committee for a period of three (3) years. 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
A postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in any of the following fields: Accounting/ Auditing/ Financial Management/ Information Systems • Be independent and knowledgeable of the status of their positions as members, have the requisite auditing knowledge and skills, be conversant with the audit environment and have a professional qualification such as CIA/ CA(SA) / RA/RGA / CISA, and affiliation to a professional recognized body • Have at least 10+ years of experience of serving as a member of the Audit Committee or similar committees • The Audit Committee shall meet at least four (4) times per financial year • Candidates are required to display and be committed to the following attributes: Integrity, dedication, understanding public sector business and controls, good communication skills, inquisitiveness and independent judgment. 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 
• Execution of roles and responsibilities as outlined in chapter 3 of Treasury Regulations issued in terms of the PFMA 
• The Audit Committee will report to the Executive Authority and Accounting Officer of the Department of Home Affairs.
