SELECTION
 In the filling of entry level positions, preference may be given to unemployed youth / graduates, and / or who have successfully completed their respective skills development programmes, who satisfy the inherent requirements of the post and reside within close proximity to the office where the post is based. 
 Shortlisted Candidates will be subjected to an interview; 
 Candidates potentially considered suitable after the interview, will be subjected to employment suitability checks (credit, criminal, citizenship, employment references and qualification verifications). 
 
 APPOINTMENT: 
Appointed persons will be required to - 
 serve a prescribed probation period; and

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: PUBLIC AWARENESS, REF NO HRMC 26/23/1 
SALARY : A basic salary of R393 714 to R463 764 per annum (Level 9). In addition, to a range of competitive benefits are offered. 
CENTRE : Head Office, Pretoria, Branch: Communication Services, Directorate: Client and Stakeholder Relations. 
 
REQUIREMENTS : • An undergraduate qualification in Communications / Public Relations / Public Management at NQF level 6 as recognized by SAQA • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a public relations / communications environment at a supervisory level • Knowledge and understanding of Public Service Legislations • Knowledge and understanding of all Departmental Legislations and prescripts • Knowledge of media issues, social marketing, theory and practice, communications strategies and implementation and behavioural sciences • Knowledge of marketing, public relations, advertising, promotion and other marketing communication methods • Business report writing and presentation skills • Problem solving and analysis • Influencing and networking • Planning and organizing • Interpersonal and negotiation skills • Technical and commercial skills • Computer literacy • Eye for detail • A valid driver’s license, willingness to travel and work extended hours. 
 
DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks: • To implementation public awareness and stakeholder management in line with the communications strategy and plan of the Department • Identify and implement plans through effective communications channels and tools that will enable communication with all citizens and staff within the public service • Implement the communications strategy and plan that is aligned to the Department’s integrated communication strategy and strategic objectives • Implement the processes and procedures that effectively communicates the Department’s vision and strategy so that there is understanding and buy-in • Promote the image of Department through a community liaison service, media buying and planning as well as collaborations with strategic partners in government and private sector • Procure and distribute advocacy materials that communicate services of the Department to members of the public • Promote effective use of agreed communication channels, standards, processes and procedures throughout the Department • Establish, maintain and ensure an effective stakeholder management • Establish contact between the external and relevant internal communication stakeholders • Attend meetings and communicate on a regular basis with key stakeholders • Manage physical resource • Monitor and report on the utilization of equipment and resources • Co-ordinate memorandum of understanding service level agreements and expenditure review.

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks: • Provide inputs in the develop strategy and project plan for brand management and corporate identity services within the Department • Market the Department’s services and products to the public • Market the Department’s brand in community outreach programmes, events, departmental and international events • Guide Business Units on the coherent corporate identity, brand management approach and services • Monitor and review a corporate identity and branding strategy and implementation plan for the Department • Secure management commitment for the corporate identity and brand management drives • Monitor guidelines on methods to undertake corporate identity and brand management work • Ensure the sourcing and the provision of banners, exhibition and branding material for Departmental events • Participate in the Department’s branding at identified events, shows and exhibitions • Manage physical resources • Monitor and report on the utilisation of equipment • Co-ordinate memorandum of understanding, service level agreements and expenditure review.

SECURITY OFFICER, (2 POSITIONS)

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks: • Perform access control functions • Conduct access control for personnel as per physical security standard operating procedures • Conduct visitors access control as per SOPs • Confirm with relevant employee to confirm the appointment or refer the visitor to the relevant service delivery point • Complete or ensure that the admission control register is completed and issue admission control documents / cards • Ensure safety in the building and the premises by undertaking patrols • Plan and register patrol / inspection and patrols / inspect the assigned area in a thorough and a systematic manner to identify and check • Ensure that doors are locked / unlocked • Apply emergency procedures and alert emergency services and Departmental management • Ensure that equipment documents and stores do not leave or enter premises unauthorised • Inspect vehicles entering and leaving the premises • Monitoring of CCTV close circuit television • Issuing and activating access cards • Report faulty electronic security equipment • Patrolling on all installed electronic security aids, readers, cameras, emergency doors, boom and automatic gates.
