KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to engage, network and influence suppliers.
  • Proven track record for problem solving and successful project delivery.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Must have very good SAP knowledge and skills.

Job Description
We are on a search for an experienced Logistics and Supply Chain professional to take on the roles of National Warehouse Manager. This role will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day performance of all warehouses in the Defy network, including driving warehouse excellence, consolidating operations standards, driving warehouse consistency and performance.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Optimize customer service and output performance from the warehouses while ensuring the warehouses are operating safely, at the right cost, and optimization, and ensuring stock integrity across the network.
  • Jacob’s factory warehouse management.
  • Inspection of 3PL warehouses at Danskraal, Midrand, Polokwane, Cape town
  • Safety and Security standards within the warehouses
  • Overall OPEX and CAPEX Budget and performance reviews for all warehouses, to ensure cost controls are in place and budgets are met so that wastage and losses are minimized across the network.
  • Management of ZBB project for helping improvement of OPEX
  • Driving standardization of systems and processes across the warehouses to ensure optimal efficiencies, maximum capacity utilization and warehouse excellence.
  • Overall consolidation of stock control and stock integrity across the warehouses including WCM in the warehouses.
  • National Warehouse strategy development and execution including partnering with HR and Warehouses managers on engagement strategies for the shop floor and union.
  • Management of Non-A-Prime stocks
 
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS
  • 7-9 years Logistics and Warehouse management experience, including experience with Union engagements, driving operational excellence, process and system development and performance optimization.
  • Strong record of performance delivery through others, across multiple sites and a broad portfolio
  • Qualification in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Logistics and operations management. ( Master Degree on Supply Chain Management is preferred )
  • Systems knowledge of SAP, WMS, TMS, Excel and Power BI
  • Skills: Strong leader and communicator at all levels from executives to shopfloor, Autonomous self-starter, ability to manage remote teams, creative problem solver, project management, demonstrated financial acumen
  • Finance or broader business qualification and added benefit,
  • Mobility to visit Durban, Polokwane and Cape Town.

The Specialist will be responsible for group quality functions of Laundry, MDA and SDA products. All Field Quality related tasks related to Imports, Exports and Locally manufactured goods.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALITY
  • Perceived Quality (PQ) requirements standardisation & continuous improvement
  • Monitor and stratify (Sales Returns) contributors
  • Coordinate field trials of new and/or improved products
  • Periodically audit production floor
  • Monitor and achieve quality requirements in line with the Voice of the Customer (VOC)
  • Prepare and issue Service Call Rate (SCR) report
  • A Structured and Systematic Approach to resolving Field Complaints
  • Assisting production with trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Formally raising CAPA’s as per Customer complaints
 
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Achievement of factory Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and successful projects deployments.
  • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with Defy project management procedures
  • Monitor and review compliance to the project scope
  • Ensure projects are completed on time
 
COST SAVING
  • Ensuring smooth roll out of Aftersales ZBB initiatives
  • Through the continuous improvement to reduce cost of poor quality
  • Packaging Damaged Related Cost reduction projects and initiatives.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc / BTech. in an Engineering Field – Mechanical Engineering / quality management as a preference
  • 5 years’ Manufacturing experience required
  • 5 years’ experience within a Quality Assurance Department as a preference
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Experienced Quality 6 Sigma specialist with a BTech in Quality Maintenance as preference
  • Experience with Technical problem solving within a Cross Functional Team (CFT)
  • Advanced Excel Skills
