Job Description
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The successful candidate will be expected, among others to:
- Provide input into the development of the security business strategy and plan that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
- Provide input into the development, implementation and annual review of an overall strategic plan for the Security Unit.
- Oversee and guide the implementation of the security plan as approved, including as appropriate any special tasks or projects requested by management.
- Provide technical advice on requirements and specifications for strengthening existing and new building security systems.
- Oversee the supervision of outsourced security personnel to ensure compliance with all security procedures in place and maintain a high standard of physical security.
- Ensure the administration of vetting applications.
- Monitor and evaluate security service provider contracted by the Agency.
- Ensure that regular inspections are conducted.
- Ensure security investigations are conducted in line with prescribed legislation and security breaches are managed accordingly.
- Oversee the development of controls to prevent unauthorised access and dealing with events threatening the security of the site.
- Liaise regularly with National Intelligence and State Security Agencies
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Formal Qualifications :
- NQF Level 7 qualification in a Security Management/ Law/ Policing/ other Management qualification or PSIRA Grade A plus minimum 10 years related supervisor level.
- NQF level 8 will be added advantage.
- Advance VIP course and PSIRA Grade A.
Experience:
- Relevant 5-10 years’ experience in Security Management related environment of which 3 (three) years must have been on a management level/area of expertise.
- Relevant 5 years’ experience in Close Protection environment of which 3 years must have been on supervisory level.
- Strong knowledge of MISS and MPSS.
