SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

THE EMPLOYER
The Cross-Border Road Transport Agency is a statutory authority, established in terms of Section 4 of the Cross-Border Road Transport Act, Act 4 of 1998, as amended, to regulate cross-border road transport.

The position will be based at the Agency’s Head Office in Menlyn. The incumbent will report directly to the Senior Manager: IT Infrastructure.
 
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 3 Year Diploma in Information Technology;
• Certifications: ITIL and COBIT;
• Microsoft Certified Engineer
• At least 5 years network knowledge and experience.
 
Experience
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience working in an IT environment, 6 of which must be supporting Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, SCCM and SCOM
• Extensive knowledge and experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft solutions
• At least 5 years Network knowledge and experience
• Windows Server Administration and Automation
• Exposure to Backup and security solutions
 
 
Key Performance Areas:
• Design, implementation, administration and optimization of various enterprise technologies including, but not limited to Azure, Active Directory, SQL, SharePoint, Hype-V and Exchange;
• Provide level 3 support for Active Directory Domain and Certificate Services;
• High level knowledge of planning, designing, deploying Active Directory including Azure integration;
• Perform tasks from the Operation Manager console and application support for the SCOM and SCCM platforms as well as create and maintain monitoring and notification rules;
• Maintenance of the data centre environmental facilities;
• Keep DR environment in sync with production environment;
• Lead DR processes by recovery of Microsoft systems and applications;
• Maintain and create documentation for exchange environment;
• Design, implementation and administration of data replication, technologies and system backups;
• Design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance;
• Develop and implement various security solutions.
