Companies Tribunal is an agency of the dtic, established in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008. The Tribunal’s mandate is to adjudicate applications made in terms of the Act by reviewing decisions of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and to serve as a forum for alternative dispute resolution in any matter arising under the Act.

Shape the Future with Credible Leadership: Chief Operations Officer (COO) – Companies Tribunal, Pretoria: 
The Companies Tribunal seeks a proven and credible leader to serve as Chief Operations Officer (COO), to oversee executive, strategic and operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight. 
 
Purpose of the Role: The COO ensures operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight. 
 
Key Requirements: • South African Citizen • A Qualification at NQF Level 9 (Required) • PFMA experience is non-negotiable • Understanding financials is crucial. 
 
In-depth understanding of: • Companies Act, 71 of 2008 (especially - provisions on the Companies Tribunal’s jurisdiction) • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations • King IV Report on Corporate Governance • Public Sector Regulations and National Treasury frameworks 
 
Familiarity with: • Dispute resolution, adjudication support, and administrative justice processes • Human resources and organisational development in the public sector • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, governance, and operational management 
 
Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Tribunal • Strengthen organisational capacity, governance, and performance • Build and maintain trust with government, tribunal members, and stakeholders. 
 
This is a five-year contract opportunity to demonstrate credible leadership at the highest level and shape the future of the Tribunal.
