COMMUNITY SCHEMES OMBUD SERVICE (CSOS)
 


The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity. The CSOS has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA). 
 
TEMP ANNUAL RETURNS OFFICERS X3 
(Ref. CSOS/ARO/04/24) 
This position reports to the Manager: Receivables and offers a total cost to company package of R522 036.36 per annum. 
 
Requirements
  • Matric.
  • A National Diploma or a Degree in Accounting or Financial management or Commerce.
  • At least 1 - 2 years working experience in accounting and / or revenue management, financial administration. 
  • Strong administration skills with attention to detail. 
  • Basic understanding of financial processing on an accounting programme. 
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 
  • Deadline driven. 
  • Problem solving. 
  • Client Liaison. 
  • Good interpersonal skills. 
  • Good organizational and planning skills. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
 
Key Performance Areas 
  • Processing of annual returns in terms of section 59 of the CSOS Act 
  • Administer and file Scheme CS2 records 
  • Assist schemes and managing agents with CS2 application queries 
  • Assisting clients with the tracking and follow up of transactions in progress 
  • Issuing of notifications on missing section 59/CS2 form information 
  • Ensure that schemes are compliant before processing annual returns 
  • Issuing of non-compliance letters in terms of the Section 59 of CSOS Act 
  • Amendment of billable scheme information upon schemes declarations 
  • Assist clients with annual return submissions on CSOS Connect 
  • Train stakeholders on annual returns as and when required at stakeholder sessions. 
  • Drafting and issuing of Section 59 Annual returns compliance certificates 
  • On-board schemes once information is transferred from the Registration unit 
  • Liaise with the schemes and source prior year schedules. 
  • Accurately process invoices and enhance revenue collection. 
  • Provide financial accounting administration services. 
  • Administer customer receipts statements. 
  • Administer timeous issuing of invoices and statements to customers. 
  • Accurately process billing amendments and variably strengthen stakeholder relationships.
