The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity. The CSOS has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA)
 
Job Description
·To perform an assessment and determination; and recommend investigations related to irregular; and fruitless and wasteful expenditure
·To ensure that the requirements of National Treasury Instruction Notes 4 on Irregular, Fruitless and Wasteful of 2022/23 and related annexures are complied with
·To ensure that the National Treasury guidelines on irregular & Fruitless and wasteful are followed.
·To resolve cases of losses due to theft, damages, accidents, incurrence of fruitless and irregular, wasteful expenditure, assets and inventory items within the working environment and to determine accountability and liability with regards to cases of any loss and/or damage through criminal acts, negligence or omissions
·To recommend recovery of losses or damages resulting from irregular or fruitless and wasteful expenditure from the person liable for that expenditure.
·To refer matters of damages, losses and claims of any nature necessary for investigation to the risk unit.
·To recommend write-off of money owed to the CSOS in monetary value as prescribed by the PFMA and the Treasury Regulations.
·To make recommendations regarding the strengthening of internal controls to prevent or mitigate future losses as a result of irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure
·To make recommendations about possible condonation of irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure after properly assessing each case and to ensure that such recommendations comply with the frameworks
·To ensure that a loss is recommended to the Chief Financial Officer for recovery in terms of the Debt Management Policy
 
Appointment Type - Part Time
 
Note that this is a position where the candidates its on the Loss Control Committee at least 4 (Meetings) times a year.
 
COMMITMENTTO MEETINGS
·The Loss Control Committee must hold regular meetings (every quarter), in keeping with the incidents identified and for which loss is to be determined
·Other meetings may be held depending on the need as determined by the Chairperson
 
Job Requirements
·NQF level 8 Legal/Accounting/Audit/Finance/Risk Qualification
·10 years working experience in legal, finance, accounting, audit, risk environment with at least 3 years leadership/managerial experience
·Working knowledge of at least contract law, financial management law, corporate law
·Extensive knowledge of relevant Supply Chain Management legislation/prescripts in the public sector, including but not limited to National Treasury Regulations, Instructions in SCM and relevant provisions of the Public Finance Management Act as well as the PPPFMA Regulations.
·At least 3 years' experience in compliance related committees as members

Job Description
Interns will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including:
·      Providing support with internal and external communication
·      Assisting in the creation and curation of content for social media, newsletters, and the company website.
·      Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of events, campaigns, and exhibitions to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
·      Conducting research to support communication initiatives, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
·      Assisting with media monitoring, clipping, and compiling reports on coverage and trends.
·      Maintaining and updating content calendars for various platforms.
·      Supporting the development of presentations, reports, and other communication materials.
·      Assisting in capturing and organizing photographs and multimedia content for internal and external use.
·      Providing administrative support to the communications team, including minute-taking
 
Job Requirements
  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have completed Grade 12 (matric).
  • A bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Graphic Design.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Not be permanently employed
  • Not have previously participated in an internship programme
